BuffaloBill
Had the second (Moderna) yesterday afternoon. Arm is a little sore, some aches but a monster headache. Hopefully, if there is a third dose the effect is mild.
Beerball
Got both doses of Pfizer. My immune system is no bueno so one of my docs had me take an antibody test a couple weeks after the second dose. Unfortunately no antibodies for me which was not unexpected. I'm dependent on those around me getting vaccinated; in other words I'm not going to be eliminating a mask any time soon. Have 2 kids getting married this fall/winter; hope to be there to participate in both weddings.

Have 2 kids getting married this fall/winter; hope to be there to participate in both weddings. Our son has his “public wedding” next Friday at the Grove Park Inn, Asheville, NC. The date has moved repeatedly and they did a small church thing last summer. All the old farts have had their shots, and the “kids” don’t care too much either way. The state and venue have new limits on attendance so they save some money by limited to 64 people when the original list was 100+. More money for their first house! (Had an easy out to skip it all together, but what bride doesn’t want that dream wedding?) Most of their friends are about the same age and getting married about the same time. All those plans went down the drain too. What a crazy year! Sorry the shots didn’t do the trick for you. They will continue to get better at dealing with this. I hope things keep getting better and your kid’s weddings go off without a hitch and with you in good health! . Anyone else care to share if they’ve received a dose? Like you, I was eligible early on because I’m a cancer patient, but it took another slip&fall, and another fractured vertebrae to get me into Buffalo General, where they gave me the Janssen (J&J) vaccine, just before it was temporarily stopped. It’s been over a month, and no side effects. (I go under the knife at Roswell on Tuesday - another tumor ablation.)

We have friends who live in Hilton Head, our former home. He’s a CPA and invited us to stay with them so my wife could meet with one of his clients to see if she could help him. He said “Hey! Want to bike over to Pool Bar Jim’s on the beach for frozen drinks?” Well, OF COURSE! I had NO idea how far that was from his house, that most of the ride would be on the sandy beach, that the very STRONG wind would be against us the whole way there, or that a 100 mile bike ride was routine for him. When we FINALLY got there he said “I love you guys, you’re game to do stuff!” Apparently he couldn’t hear me cussing him the last half of the ride. . Yeah - let's hope the boosters have less side effects - I'd hate to think people might skip needed boosters because they don't want to have to repeat feeling bad for a few days - that would not be helpful into beating back this virus. I get not wanting to feel lousy for a few days, I just hope it doesn't scare people from continuing to cut down on the number of available viral hosts. 1 1

I have become worried already of the state showing a lot of people skipping their second doses. i am no doctor, but I have to think we are feeling these harsh side effects now due to exposure to this “novel” virus for the first time. Once we get some of these antibodies, it hopefully might produce less of a shock to the system? At least, that is my professional medical belief based on no medical or scientific training or experience!

Captain Caveman
Got my second Moderna at lunchtime Friday, Friday night woke up in the middle of the night with bad chills, got up to get a blanket. I was pretty sick Saturday (body aches, bad chills, no energy - literally felt like I couldn't move, and nausea.) Last night my fever broke, and was pretty much back to normal today except for a sore neck (which was probably my own fault for sleeping on the couch so much of Saturday.) Glad I got it done, I hope everyone else who can does so we can get back to "normal" ASAP. Edited May 3, 2021 by Captain Caveman 2
Augie
I finished the shots months ago, with no real effects other than a sore arm for a day with the first one. Last week I went into a mom and pop drug store because my mother forgot/lost her cane. A little place in a strip center, but the line was a mile long to buy a cane? Turns out I was the only one buying anything, the rest were in line for paperwork to get shots. I was told they were giving 6 shots every 2 minutes, which I thought was very encouraging. As much of a hassle as that was, it beat me waiting in my car with thousands of people waiting two hours to get my 2nd shot. I’m glad I had gas to wait that long, I didn’t expect that! It seems long waits like that are history, so good news a there.
