Houston's #1 Bills Fan
I am SHOCKED.........SHOCKED I tell you!!! Well, not really. Feel for the Lions fans. They have had such terrible teams. Only the Barry Sanders years come to mind as mildly successful and even that was such a waste of talent.
TheCockSportif
Not shocked. I'm only wondering why it took so long. Heck, I'm not even mocking the Lions for these slow moves; look at how many years of Bills' football were completely fruitless, and for exactly the same reasons. loveorhatembillsfan4life
Lions should move on from Stafford too. They missed their shot this year on Herbert. The rumblings around the Detroit area was Quinn the only person who wanted to draft Okudah. Not sure could be just talk. But they probably will low enough in the draft to take another shot at a Qb.

Nihilarian
About freaking time too... How bad do ya need to suck before the axe falls. 6-10, 4-12, 3-7 What gets me is the Lions actually weren't that bad under Jim Caldwell 11-5 his first season in 2014, then 7-9, 9-7, 9-7. Jim Schwartz even made the playoffs in 2011 at 10-6. To me it starts at the top with the GM / HC and then the assistant coaches. Both Quinn and Patricia stunk. aceman_16
I cant say I'm sorry Patricia lost his job. In addition to him being a terrible coach.....he was super hypercrititical. My disdain for him really overflowed when he was mocking that reporter a couple of years ago to "sit up and look professional" as HE is giving a press conference in a sweat shirt, a pencil behind his ear, a baseball hat, unkempt beard and looking like he has a back up offensive lineman hugging his gut!! It took some real gumption to pull that crap off. Edited November 28, 2020 by aceman_16 grammurr

Yea you are draft deficient in year 1 but you inherit a roster with a top 5 QB and only one other player who you are "stuck with" in Tunsil. It is a pretty blank sheet of paper. I'd try and re-sign Fuller if I could but beyond that you can build it up with your own guys. This might be an unpopular position but I think the Jets' job is going to be the best one out there next year. Big market, Joe Douglas seems mostly competent, tons of draft picks including the 1st overall pick (more than likely), lots of cap space, and time to do a complete rebuild with no immediate pressure to win. If you step into Houston they will expect you to win immediately because you have Watson. The problem is that Houston has mortgaged their future trading away many of their high draft picks on dubious Bill O'Brien personnel moves.
