Also my personal favorite!

Sure, could change it to the color of the nut...white walnut?

Can I be your guy's popcorn holder? I'll sit in the middle with it in my lap, xxxtra movie butter flavor🍿

Why do I have a feeling there’s going to be a hole in the popcorn bucket?

I am with you there— though probably have pistachios ranked slightly ahead of cashews (and pistachio is probably my favorite ice cream).

i would add pecans to the mix too—especially candied pecans!

French vanilla and pistachio favorite ice creams for moi. Haven't tried candied pecans, but I'll give it a try.

Peanuts are not nuts but legumes despite name " Ground Nut Legume".  I leaned a lot about peanuts in high school in research project on George Washington Carver.  They are not even called peanuts in other countries unless on imports from US.

My list:

  • Hazel nut - very heart healthy and great mixed in chocolate.
  • Cacao nut - used to make chocolate
  • Almond nut - raw (very good sliced in salads) and roasted (Tamari or hickory smoke my favorites)
  • Coconut - yes it is a fruit and a nut
  • Macadamia nuts - had fresh ones in Hawaii and there is a difference

He said don't be a db...

You might know them as hazelnuts. When I was a kid, my parents would buy bags of mixed nuts, still in the shells. The mix included almonds, walnuts, filberts, Brazil nuts, pecans, and maybe something else.

In my house, those were decoration, not unlike 'indian corn'.

1. Cashews

2. Pistachios (what happened to the red ones?)

3. Almonds (wasabi soy but lightly salted is cool)

4. Hazelnuts

5. Walnuts (but only in muffins or bread)

The ones that use to be dyed red came from Greece, Syria or Iran. They used to dye them because they'd get blemishes on the shell. Almost all of the pistachio's consumed in the U.S now come from California and they dry them before the shells get blemished.

Pistachio

Cashew

Almond

Don't be a db....legumes count.

I love pistachios.  The problem is they are expensive and I eat like 100 of them each time.  I eat it like sunflower seeds where I put the shell in my mouth, crack it open with my teeth and get the nut in my mouth....spit out the shell.   Of course the really difficult shells, I break it open with my fingers....I am not wasting a good nut.

What nuts do you guys like?

I like that you made a serious thread, just to make a double entendre about nuts in your mouth.

Wrong. The correct answer is “cashews”. We also would have accepted “filberts”.

I love all nuts, but none is more delicious than a warmed cashew, heavily salted

Anyone ever tried boiled peanuts?  My wife (well my girlfriend at that time) and I were on our way to a weekend trip to Charleston.  We were about half way there, and we stopped at a gas station in the middle of nowhere.  Saw a sign for boiled peanuts.  Regular or Cajun.

Neither of us had ever heard of boiled peanuts, so we asked the lady at the register if they were good.  She said (in a heavy southern accent) “They’re like peanuts, but they’re boiled.”  I still have never tried a boiled peanut 😂

how tf have you never tried boiled peanuts lmfao

and the answer is coconut

holy hell they are a staple here as snack food...been eating boiled peanuts since i was a pup

Reports say boiling is better with peanut allergies.   It's the dry roasting where people run into problems with the allergen.  I can see if I can dig up the links.

I'm a pretty open dude; could get down with some cashews. I get Filbert coffee all the time.

I've always known you were pretty open when it comes to eating nuts, but it's good to hear you re-iterate it.
