How scared is the offense playing?

Yesterday was an all time low......  Yes a win, but let's thank Duck for that.....  To play as scared as they did just makes me shake my head.

I think their highlight was getting that first down before halftime so they could run out the clock.

After going up 17-10 their goal was to hold the ball for three plays & punt.  Pathetic.

Didn’t really mind them playing conservative after they got the lead. But I do agree that with 2 minutes left and 3 timeouts there was really no call for that. With Pitt getting the ball to open the second half, you gotta try for points there. Allen won’t learn anything with a rely on the defense mindset

I thought McD understood what they had to do perfectly. Hence the 17-10 victory on the road against a team with serious momentum behind them. This is a young team learning how to win. This season has been quite refreshing. A 35-3 victory lends no advantage into next week's game. They are on the rise regardless of what the Bills do in the Playoffs. This team steps up when it's prime time. I just couldn't be happier.

It's called being conservative, not scared.  McD knew that our defense could win this game and that we only needed a few plays on offense to win.  With playing this caliber of a defense, McD made the right calls to win the game.  At the end, a "W" is the only thing that matters.

It’s McDermott’s style. Sean believes in his Defense to win him games. Sean saw that Duck wasn’t going to win that game.
I agree it’s frustrating to watch and it cost the Bills the Cleveland game. My hope is Sean will adjust and get more aggressive when needed.

We can only hope but I won't hold my breath. A good QB would've taken advantage of the conservative nature and boneheaded penalties that followed.

Game calling was horrible again.  Yes we're Bills fans, but if you look at this team realistically, they are very boring to watch.

Just a fact.......

I'm thrilled for the win, however can't ignore the fact that they refuse to try on offense.  The fourth quarter last two possessions & prior to half does bother me.

Because it's stupid to take risks against a great defense when your defense will win you the game.

Again Bills & Stockholme syndrome.  269 yards offense is hard to watch.   And it was not the Pittsburgh Defense it was Buffalo playing petrified.

Here is the thing champ.....We KNOW the Bills are 10-4 and coasting for last two games....you THINK they would be better playing in a different manner.....I will defer to the coach who has been in playoffs 2/3 years after a 19 year drought

You do realize the other team gets paid to play football too, right? And they have a defense that's almost as good as ours?

& Maybe start Barkley the last two games?  It is about growth & the play calling on Offense is terrible.

I think this Offense has much more in it.

Scared enough to win 10 out of 14 games and make the playoffs.

Keep in mind that Pittsburgh has tough defense that is blitz heavy.  Allen who is improving rapidly but still struggles when throwing against the blitz was not great, but the offense did enough to win yesterday.  He came through when needed.    Not every game is going to be 300 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Even Jim Kelly had some so so performances in some big Bills wins during their prime.  If Josh Allen ever had the stat line that Kelly did during their 1991 championship win over the broncos, there would be ten threads calling for his release.

Again.....you THINK....what are your qualifications that make us believe you have a better approach and strategy to winning than McD?

How dare you mention this on this forum. You are supposed to just be happy we made the playoffs and then shut up. Don’t you even think about mentioning what a failure Daboll was the last two weeks or that you know the offense needs to play smarter, generate more points to go far in the playoffs. No, you sir just need to be happy that we are 10-4 and not even dare to bring up any flaws, you probably aren’t even a real fan, real fans are perfectly happy with making the playoffs and being one and done. Jeez Know your place....
