The Dolphins will soon need a new quarterback, and the placeholder at the position (pending the draft) could be Tyrod Taylor

The pre-free agency rumor mill has the Dolphins targeting Tyrod Taylor, as the for-now replacement for Tannehill as the starter. That could change for Taylor, if the Dolphins draft a quarterback next month.

He's been more lethal against them than Tom Brady so it makes sense.  I just want an ESPN special where he announces he's taking his talents to South Beach.

Weird though in that their new HC is Brian Flores, who was on the NE defensive staff for years and had absolutely no problem shutting him down.

It's all part of Belichick's master plan to have secret agents implanted throughout the NFL to suck at being a Head Coach.

Matt Patricia please stand up.

Hell I don't think any of his assistants have a winning record once they leave the Borg.

I hope Tyrod gets another chance to be a starter.  He wasn't our long term answer but he's a stand up guy.  I hope it works out for him, except for those two games each year when he plays the Bills.

He's a great guy from all accounts, but he can't play quarterback. That's the problem. The rest of his career is going to be a journeyman type like the way Trent Edwards or JP Losman fizzled away. I think he's a backup who can come in and make plays, or the guy you want if you want to tank. I think he should go back to Baltimore and get a long term type of backup contract to be behind Jackson.

He’s good enough to start in this league??

Really ??

im not hating on Tyrod but with so many teams looking for a QB , ( I would think ) you would hear TT name at least once in while as some one who would be considered even to compete for the starting position ,

Agreed, he’s been a complete afterthought as far as discussion about available FA QBs

They already have RG3 as a back up. That’s what confuses me about Baltimore. That’s the same RG3 who had one magical season running the read option before the hits ending a seemingly promising career.

Now they seem intent on letting Jackson follow RG3’s path. I didn’t want LJ in Buffalo but I’m glad he got first round money because odds are his body is toast before he even reaches his team option.

LOL! Putin you got me...

I went back and edited my post and took that line out.  You were too fast!  I think Tyrod is great clip board holding material, but I think he is actually a good fit in Miami this year, no QB, low expectations, clear place holder for a single season.  He can win you some games.  I'm still a fan for the way he handles his business.  Contrast him with AB this week.  It's not hard to root for Tyrod.

Great choice if you are planning to tank.

I dunno - his complete lack of turnovers seems to prohibit tanking.  You would want an interception machine if truly tanking.  I would think fitzpatrick would be a better choice.  Move parker or stills - or both.  Fitz easily puts up 20+ picks, the total lack of pass rush, and the presence of Kiko should be enough to get you to 2 wins.

Well, they are tanking, right?  Seems like a good fit then.

If true that they are tanking.  They should trade for Peterman  and start him instead. That'd essentially cement that first overall next year.

Tyrod would be one of the best backup QBs in the league. He protects the ball and might be able to eek out a win if his D balls out.

I cannot see him being a day1 starter ever again though, his play is way to limited.

Yes he has a place in the league as a backup and spot starter.

He is a LOT better than either Edwards or Losman and is much better suited for a long-term backup role than those two, who did precisely nothing after leaving the Bills.

I do agree that he's a great option for Baltimore.

well unless day 1 starter  is only meant to last 1, 2 or 3 weeks
