If Jonah Williams and Jawaan Tayor are available when we pick, who do you take?

Jonah can play guard or tackle where Jawaan is seen as strictly a tackle. We already have our left tackle in Dion. So do you take the more versatile player? Jonah could play RT, LT or move to the guard position. We could have the left side of our line fixed with Jonah at LG with Dion at LT, with a FA Center. Jawaan is the higher rated tackle, we could take him and move Dion to LG. Personally, I would take Jonah and have a lot more versatility in case of injury. Thoughts please?

I've seen projections that say Taylor can play guard.

There are those who think Jonah Williams will struggle at the pro level playing tackle because of his moderately short arms.  He didn't test awful at the combine, but he didn't stand out either.  His strongest positive is that he's technically proficient, but he appears not to be a great athlete.  My expectation is that he will be decent as a pro, in either the tackle or guard spot, but he'll never wow you with his play.  I think Jawaan Taylor has more athletic tools, and I wouldn't discount his ability to move inside and play guard.

would you put Jonah at G?

After taking him at #9?

Is he Quinten Nelson?

Or, MAYBE, is a DL option the better choice?

Who wouldn’t love TWO Josh Allens on the team? (I know that’s like winning the lottery, but it would be great fun!)

At #9? Maybe this all goes to prove we can move back and still get a good OT?

Maybe.  But it would be a risk to move back.  If you need a LT, think he's the best one in the draft and he's there, you take him.

Definitely not Nelson, but the versatility intrigues me a lot. If Dion goes down, Jonah can move outside.

I don’t pretend to know. Dawkins may be fine if surrounded by competent players. I’m glad we pay people for this stuff, because most of us would be fired pretty quickly. At least they get a few years!

Christian Wilkins? Ed Oliver?  If I had to pick one of those 2 OTs it would be Taylor.

I’d go Oliver if available, which means he will flame out.

What about the story that Jonah refused to switch positions in college and only sees himself as a left tackle?

They don't pay nearly as much in college. I think he'll switch for top 10 money.

Taylor & it's not close.

Taylor is a very good RT from Day 1, with the feet & ability to eventually play LT.

Jonah Williams is a Guard at the NFL level, I don't think there's any way he could play LT in the NFL.

This needs to be the year of the O-Line at One Bills Drive.  If they can grab two solid O-Linemen in free agency (Paradis/ Williams/Williams/Zeitler/Morse) then I think you have the luxury of looking at EDGE or DT or WR at 9, otherwise they need to grab the best O-Lineman on the board at 9.  No point in spending all that capital to get your franchise QB if he is running for his life every other snap.  The O-Line isn't sexy but it is the heart of the offense.  Can't run the ball, can't pass the ball without a decent O-Line.

If Allen is going to continue to develop, he needs an O-Line.

I am hoping for 2 OL in FA and a DL at 9.

And a couple later round OL’s. Notice where the “desired” guys come from? Paradis was a 6th rounder. Not unusual. Take an educated flier and coach them up.

Fair point Augie.  You might hit on a late round pick.

I would rather have them spend their money in free agency to shore up the O- line and if that's not successful for whatever reason, invest heavily in the O-Line in the draft.  I suspect that a 5th rounder might require more coaching up than a 1st rounder.  Drafting your franchise quarterback and then not investing in the linemen to protect him seems like a good way to be back in the franchise quarterback market in 2-3 years.

I am ALL FOR investing in OL and DL. ALL FOR! Win the game on the LOS. I just don’t want to reach in the draft. I’d rather overpay in FA for a few years than pass on elite DL talent to draft average OL talent. Allen and the run game NEED a line. Don’t get average at #9.

I think you are getting a pretty good player with Taylor, and I think Williams could be a very good interior linemen. I wouldn't take either at 9. If you pick them, you are passing on elite defensive talent, and I think filling holes and settling is the worst way to draft. I would never draft a non elite offensive linemen in the top ten of a draft.

I should have said good to very good as opposed to average, but I think the point was clear (if not exact). I can’t wait for this stuff to actually happen!

You are 100% right here. David Bahktiari, 4th round, Shaq Mason 4th, Jason Kelce 6th, Marshal Yanda 3rd, Alejandro Villanueva UDFA...There are a few top linemen picked in the top ten, but some of the best come from all over the place. We we are all salivating over Paradis 6th, Morse 2nd, Spain UDFA, Saffold 2nd. Gotta draft better and find the right people.

There are some who think he might not be that much of a reach at #9.  Personally, I don't think the Bills are going to end up drafting an offensive lineman at #9.  This thread and the uncertainty it illustrates is a a big reason why.

The correct answer is Ed Oliver.

I think as NFL players Jonah Williams projects as a very good LG (maybe even a C) and Jawaan Taylor projects as a very good RT but a RT only. Neither of those are "wasted" picks, but they are also almost definitely not the best players on the board.

Jawaan for me, and I think he beats out Dawk for the LT spot.   Dawk should be a guard, as he was originally projected in college and showed this year with his inconsistency at tackle.

I still say we are going defense in the first, Risner in the 2nd and then WR/RB/More Oline
