He would easily be our most complete WR.. he is physical and has really good hands

i would give him a 1-2 year deal to be a middle of the field and RZ threat

Isn’t he basically what Zay is, except with better hands and much more expensive?  I mean I won’t completely hate it but he is on the downhill slide.  Plus, he would probably want a big over pay to come here.

I have no idea what money he wants and I would not give him big bucks because his age

but on a cheap deal 1 year-4 million or 2 for 7 million I think he could help Allen

at this point I would say Zay is a much poorer version of Crabtree. Both are big, cut WRs who CBs shouldn’t like tackling when the ball is in their hands ...

but Crabtree has imposed his strength and high pointing abilities in the NFL and can man handle CBs... Zay has not developed that dawg mentality yet and he may never

Yeah, I mean at this point of their careers, they are similar.  I think Crabtree probsbly thinks that he is better than he is and will only take money to come to a “non contender “ but would take less to go to a “contender.”  I do think he would be nice to have a vet in the locker room though.

And THIS, my friends, is why this board is so awesome.

I would definitely sign him to a 1 year deal at 5.5 with some incentives.  I am not a believer in Zay Jones and I don't want him given a spot.  If he outperforms someone like Crabtree fine - then he's earned the spot.  I'm willing to move on from Zay in a minute to get some pro's in here.

Crabtree is nothing special but he can play.  I don't want to fart around with hoping, it's time to build Allen a viable WR group.

On this we agree

We also need some veteran leadership in that WR room

I mean he isn’t randy moss... but he would be our most complete receiver

he is definitely better than everything on the roster even though Fosters upside is more intriguing now

Crabtree is getting older but the man can catch a football and knows how to win 1-1

You don't need to defend yourself.  I was merely pointing out how equally rabid fans will come on here and post diametrically opposed opinions...and it's great.

I agree.  He's not a star but a piece and you need pieces.  I'm sick of hoping guys develop into pieces.

He won't break the bank.  His last contract was 3 years/21 mil and he got released after one (8 mil guaranteed).  I'ts reasonable to believe he'll make less on his next deal.  I'd go to two years and maybe as high as 13 mil, f that gets it done.

Of course . That’s why they are opinions...

i dont think they said he was trash, more mediocre or a mirage lol

Crabtree definitely didn’t have his best season last year.. but he also played half the season with a QB who struggles to throw and he played worse

on a cheap deal I would see if he can come back to good form and catch balls again... he’s been a pretty consummate pro his whole career

I didn't see much of him last season but I thought he was very good in Oakland. At one point he was performing as well as Amari Cooper, or so it seemed. If the contract isn't too excessive, what is there to possibly lose? We have tons of cap room.

I would be quite happy to see the Bills sign him.

I’d go John Brown over Crab if I’m looking at departing Ravens... for a multitude or reasons, age, speed, value, etc.

Provided that he wants to come here.......John Brown already passed on us once.

That is what folks fail to understand......we cant just kidnap these guys to come play for us (which is why we should be getting the bulk of our talent in the draft)

John Brown would be my first choice to

I agree. And my mediocre receiver comment was something Richard Sherman said about Crabtree.  Though he is now mediocre, he had a nice career.

The situation in Buffalo has evolved quite a lot since his first pass.

He passed on us when we had Tyrod and they had Flacco.  Now we have the guy with the deep arm, and they have the guy more like Tyrod.

I think Brown is a real possibility.

I don’t believe the league views Allen as an upgrade over Tyrod at this point, right or wrong.  As a receiver, just blindly looking at Allen’s stats, would you bet your career and future earnings on Allen?  They might be dead wrong but his is how players and agents think.

If John Brown has ANY common sense he will recognize that Josh Allen's arm talent is elite.......and for a speed receiver that is a match made in heaven

I mean maybe he thinks like that and that would be great.  Or maybe he sees a 52% passer who averaged 170 yards/game.  Again, he may be a perfect match for Allen but these guys want to go where they can maximize their numbers.

Took a guy off the practice squad and earned him NFL all rookie mention :)

(but I do get what you are saying)
