It's really interesting though because he's very well connected and evaluates prospects as well as anyone out there IMO. I don't know how much of this actually comes to fruition, but I don't think this stuff can be completely written off either. I know Zierlein is relatively well regarded, so who knows. Last year may have been an aberration with so few surprises. Allen over Bosa? Meh. Maybe. Ferrell and Oliver in the 20's? More likely Ferrell drops. Can't see ANY way Oliver goes 28, but I've heard the spiel about GM's not liking what they see in person. We shall see. I guess I wouldn't be shocked if that were the QB order. Murray is the kind of prospect some team will fall in love with. Put him opposite Foster and watch Allen drop piss missiles all over the field. Put Golden Tate in the slot owning the middle all day to really stress every inch of the field. HappyDays Posted January 30, 2019 Share Posted January 30, 2019 I could definitely see Metcalf being the pick. It would be a surprise to most people but it makes sense. He has elite physical traits and that's the type of player McDermott and Beane look for in the 1st round. He has the most upside potential of any offensive player in the draft. Biggest concern is the neck injury. If he's fully recovered from that I expect him to blow up the combine and I doubt he makes it out of the top 10. But if he's there at 9...I'm all in on taking him...He has legit #1 WR traits...And in a way, the Josh Allen pick makes me believe McBeane will be more than willing to gamble on greatness...? I believe the top three picks will be on offense. A lineman, or two, and a wideout or TE. We may then take the third on down probably to fill some of the defensive needs. Think about it, we had the #2 defense, #1 against the pass, and the 31st rated offense. Beene would be crazy to pick defensive players high, when we only lost Kyle and Phillips was groomed to be his replacement. As well has he has played in his entire career at Alabama, I am not sure if he is big enough to play LT in the NFL. He very well might be and again, he is good at every facet of OL play. I want to see his combine numbers, especially with the 225. I will speculate that if he is placed at LG, he will be an immediate impact player, perhaps a star. Jmo.
