Tracker: Bills' Roster Moves to the 53 Man Limit - Two Players Awarded from Waiver Claims with Colton Schmidt Released

Really hard to say. Guys like Redmond and Boetger other teams scouted and saw something or same thing Bills saw that made them sign these guys in first place. So they think maybe it didn't work out there but our coaches can work with these guys. Every team is looking for depth and guys to develop.

Kaelin Clay was another guy we cut who was claimed. He keeps getting cut and signed. Teams know what he brings.

Tanner Viejo was the fourth. Has some talent and some upside but I'm not sure why anyone would automatically put him on 53. Browns did. But theyre the Browns

How long do the Browns have to keep T.V. on the active squad of 53 ?

How bad is o-line play in the NFL when two rejects from our terrible line get claimed by other teams?

“Four players the Bills cut on Saturday were claimed elsewhere around the league: Ike Boettger (Chiefs), Kaelin Clay (Giants), Adam Redmond (Cowboys) and Tanner Vallejo (Browns).”

Or maybe, we’re not doing something right in Buffalo? Like our o-line coach?

...Witness Protection Program...personal safety matter.............

Bojorquez flashed a huge leg during August practices, but his ball placement wasn't always precise. His training camp reps were inconsistent.”

Not going to get crazy over a punter, but what the heck?  Incumbent in NE had 22 punts in preseason, yet this kid had none.

A couple of bad punts can turn a game.  Hope they did their due diligence, would have rather kept Ryan if they were this hell bent on booting Colton.

I know

Beane should have picked up an all-pro guard and an all-pro wr instead.

asleep at the wheel

Glad you are satisfied  with the days work..

They picked up no new OL and lost their two young guys they wanted to put on the PS..

But they got a punter though who never took a kick in the preseason..

Yeah. Totally agree. They must really not like what they saw from Schmidt lately, especially because one of his two punts against the Bears was a beaut.

The biggest risk here, a holder for field goal attempts. That could be a disaster if they don’t have a ready and reliable replacement.

...Jesus, Colton went from the serviceable penthouse to the "no running water or toilet paper outhouse" in a hurry.....punter over OL makes perfect sense........

I’m guessing their 21st spot in line for the waiver claims might have affected the outcome somewhat. We’ll probably find out at some point .

Not mutually exclusive. The new punter took the old punter’s spot, in essence. But a line move would be welcome too. People are suggesting Jerry; I would be fine with that.

For those of you bemoaning the Bills' lack of talent, I just saw a tweet that the Bills and Saints tied for the league lead with four of their cuts being claimed off waivers.

The Saints are pretty good, no?

So you are saying that we have so much talent we can’t fit them all into the team?

Our 3rd team is better than your 3rd team!

BBFS dictates that the Bills must be cutting better players in favor of worse ones.

...so that's the comfort food for the day?.....OR....does it mean we EQUALLY effed up because four cuts were claimed?.....I'm in a major conundrum here.....

It means the Bills had plenty of good backup talent, as well as the Saints. The problem is many of the Bills starters have backup level talent.

It's kinda scary to think this team is going forward with the same offensive line players.  Like some sort of magic potion will give them the extra talent on gameday or something.

The plan to tank for real this year? Because Vontae Davis looked almost as bad at CB as did the line players on every string.

Shades of Doug Whaley drafting EJ and then asking him to start with Erik Pears at OG. If that year's line (2014 because Pears had a -25 grade)was ranked 30th I gotta think this year's line will be Buffalo's worst ever. The 2018 Buffalo Bills leading the league...in sacks allowed and Interceptions.
