If he can't work with Daboll or QB coach Culley and there aren't any WR there for another week, he might be better off somewhere else, working with Jordan Palmer and some of our WR independently But if he has not signed his contract yet is he still constricted by the bargaining agreement seeing as he isn't on the team yet? That crossed my mind as to why he hasn't signed yet, because the way rookies a slotted there is not much leverage holding out.

Edit: and still better than any starting QB we have had since 96.... He's played at a near-elite level several times during his career. Basically when the Giants had a really good lineup around him, particularly a running game. No, he's certainly not elite like a Brady or a Rodgers. But yeah, he consistently has played at a top ten to twelve level when he's had even a decent lineup around him. And top ten to twelve is what you need. Teams with a guy playing at that level stand a real chance at a Lombardi. Eli's good enough to be instrumental in your team winning a Super Bowl. Duh. If anything, he's underrated by many. 8 hours ago, Sky Diver said: I want a guy who eats, drinks and sleeps football and is laser focused. Rodgers on his GF and visiting Sundance as he's a film nut and he plays guitar, and apparently a golf nut also, as the story of his funny remark to Josh Allen showed. Eat ... sleep ... laser focus ... those are the current cliches, and it all sounds terrific, but if it were actual it would be evidence of severe OCD. He also probably thinks he can solve world hunger, cure cancer and of course fix the Arizona offense in 10-20 hours. Rosens downfall won't be his talent, it will be his mental makeup. By all reports the guy is very douchy, entitled and thinks he's smarter than everyone in the room. Not great characteristics for the locker room or the film room. (Jay Cutler anyone?) And telling the world he can fix the NCAA is proof of that. I will take Allen's demeanor any day and I'll take his talents as well. Should be an interesting comparison for a few years for sure, but as of today I feel pretty good about the choice Beane made..

In terms of the "he hasn't signed his contract" doomsayers, it's simply not a big deal. His agent is actually negotiating for 7 other rookies besides Allen. The issue isn't the dollars, which are predetermined, but by offset language. Basically, it says that if they are cut or traded before their 4 year guaranteed deal is done, that the guaranteed money is offset by whatever he makes elsewhere. His agent wants it removed from all of these rookie deals, while teams are balking. It will get worked out none the less. No reason why teams should. No reason to allow double dipping. Mat68
Imo Allen is the starter week 1 or becomes it before the end of week 2. Allen is doing all the small stuff while also having the most talent. When he is out working the other guys what's the point of not playing the more talented guy? Run game, defense, 2 or 3 big pass plays a game is a decent formula to win.
