Kelly the Dog
No matter what you think about McDermott, he knows how to coach DBs. It's almost inarguable. Look what he did with all four starters last year. And don't think for a second that because he was the HC he didn't spend a lot of time with the DBs. IgotBILLStopay
In defense of the OP, we all did exult over Edmunds, Philips picks - we didnt just say we trust the process. So if we can independently be happy about some picks, we can also be disappointed no?

It’s pretty much a throw away pick anyway. Just take a QB and let him be the 4th guy through camp and the starter of that last Preseason game. You never know. If Faulk is still there, that’s who I want. I would rather draft some underachiever, then some guy who is lacking in physical tools that can't be improved. stevewin
At the end of the day - I'm a Shaquem Griffin fan for life now. What an unbelievable moment. Carroll making it happen almost makes me stop hating him for handing a SB to the Cheaters** ...almost (friggin ahole)

Success
I take the attitude I always take - even though I watch college ball and study mocks, what I know adds up to a fraction of 1% of what Beane and guys who do this 24x7 know. So, I’m excited to see what each pick can contribute to the Bills.
IgotBILLStopay
Personally I preferred Parry NIckerson over Siran Neal and Taron Johnson but am willing to concede that McD probably knows the DBs who fit his system better. Also, after the Zay experience, I am not sure about our team's ability to evaluate players on offense as well as defense. This is not a knock on McBeane. HailMary
Hoping they nailed it with these picks and we have no DBs or Swiss Army knife receivers under 6'2" in our 2019 draft ....NONE!!!!

Logic
I have a basic policy: I never get upset over day 3 picks. Why? Because I've never seen most of these kids play. I only know what draft guides and analysts tell me, and those are obviously wrong a lot and very limited compared to the knowledge and access that pro scouts have. That being said, from what I'm reading about the Bills' day 3 picks, I am cautiously optimistic. Johnson should be CB4 immediately and contribute on special teams, with the upside to become a starting nickel. He absolutely DOMINATED in college. Neal should be a big nickel (S/LB) hybrid for us and could see immediate playing time in 3-safety sub-package looks. He will also contribute on special teams. Wyatt Teller seems like a beast and I expect him to be a starting guard sooner than later. At the very least, he'll be excellent depth. Ray Ray McCloud will immediately factor into the punt return competition and could have some usefulness as a gadget player. Depth, special teams and sub package contributions, and potential long term starting capability. Not much more you can ask for from day 3 of the draft.

Offside Number 76
Good grief. They're DAY THREE picks. Relax. Many won't have a career in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Bills will grab a couple of nice UDFAs who will. Happens every year.
baskingridgebillsfan
who knows but I liked Crosby inside more than out so Teller is fine. It sounds like Johnson is a perfect scheme fit. Having a jack of all trade db isn't bad and Ray Ray will be their punter return at worst. Tate seemed to be out of gas last season. At the end of the day I don't think they at anytime this offseason they found Value at Wide Receiver. I suspect agents will view the Bills as a good place to send their udfa so we will be what becomes of that

Hurricane Marv
I hated overlooking EQ St. Brown. It sounds like there's a chance that Ray-Ray may convert to DB (from scouts, I have no idea what the Bills actually will do), in which case we didn't really address WR at all.
