Success
I think this is a false hope. Eli is old. I know Giants fans who would be more upset than we are today if they trade that pick.

jrober38
I agree. If we have to give up both first, both seconds, and next year's first, I'd do it. The Bills have plenty of ammo to trade up - just depends on if they'll pull the trigger.

Chicken Boo
Who here thinks they haven't been talking? Personally, I think the Giants would be stupid to pass on a QB, but they might. Paring Nelson with Solder would do wonders for Eli, if they are going to rally around him. There could be a draft day scenario where Giants draft QB "a" and the Bills move up slightly to draft Nelson and then a trade of the 2 picks would ensue. Chuck Wagon
Giants are taking a QB at number 2. I don't buy we have any sort of deal in place, it would have been announced. If the Giants were open to moving down, they would have taken the Jets picks and known they were getting blue chip talent along with 3 2nd round picks. We played poker, the Jets flipped a better hand, now all that's left is a potential move to #4 to take the 4th best QB prospect, or just taking a Mike White level talent in round 3-4 to wage a battle of mediocrity with McCarron and Peterman.

Even if Nelson is guaranteed to be the next John Hannah, I'm not burning #2 on an OG, definitely not this draft anyways. Either potentially phenom QB or a treasure chest of draft picks. I think there are two options: 1) We are deep in talks with the Giants, to the point both teams know it's happen, and the Colts and Jets know it's not an option for the Colts to trade with us or the Jets to trade with the Giants or 2) The Giants aren't moving, and they are set on QB.

Browns pick a QB #1 overall, Giants pick Barkley. The Giants aren't trading their pick until they know if they can get Barkley.

This is specifically what Beane was referring to in the press conference, they have a value on a prospect. Don't get loss with the fact. I understand that QB are overvalued come draft time but you don't deal from a position of weakness, imo...also overall there is only one QB with a top 5 grade (Darnold) and he needs a year or two of development, imho. I'd imagine they've already talked with NYG. It seems the Browns are going QB at #1 , leaving Barkley for the Giants. I don't think they pass on him unless they are made an offer they simply can't refuse. Do they move up for the 3rd QB off the board , with CLE or maybe even DEN ( I don't think they take a QB at 5) ? This may not unfold until draft day now, as picks come off the board and they see who NYJ and CLE take at QB.

BuffaloBillsGospel
I'm just thinking why the Jets didn't just go up to #2, my guess is that it was unavailable, I think worst case scenario is we move up to #4 with Cleveland if the Giants aren't budging. That's if the Bills think there are truly 4 franchise QB's in this draft which is highly unlikely.

Direhard Fan
Don't give away the farm. Build this year with our picks. No rookie QB is a given. We have our QB from Cin with some experience. There will be F/A next year and another crop of rookie QB's. Take a QB in the later rounds and hope. That's all you can do with any of them. No givens.
