I'll address the last part.  They don't offer the Eagles a 1st and 4th because they want to give up as little as possible and they're in no rush to trade for him since the draft is 6 weeks from tomorrow. 

 

As for trading up, the Bills would need to trade both 1st rounders and their 1st-3rd rounder to get to 3, and add their 1st-2nd rounder to get to 2.  For a guy who has never played in the NFL and you hope will be a franchise guy.  And you want to talk about failed franchises, how many have failed drafting a guy they thought was a sure thing, only to see him fail?

 

And what Hostetler and Gannon did was nothing compared to what Foles did.  Again I didn't hitch my wagon to Foles for no reason.

Lol, you can' t completely dismiss the basis and majority of a sound argument against your point and simply pick out a part you want to dispute. Thats not how sound and quality discussions happen.The bottom line is this... IF, there is a franchise altering potential FQB that can be had for only a 1st and a 4th...teams are lining up to pay the price. Everyone simply laughs at the Eagles with good reason. He was on an excellent team and in an excellent situation. If he could put a team on his back KC wouldn' t have been the disaster it was. He can compliment an excellent team - not make the team excellent. Same category as tyrod except, ya know, he can throw. Anywho- Moot point, as the Bills went w AJ who I think (not that it matters a lick) is a better choice than Foles and serves the purpose you want, which seems to be win until the rookie is ready. As with Foles, my only worry is putting 2 guys in a room who want to be the guy when only 1 can. A Moore, Hoyer, McCown guy would serve that role in a more defined way and would avoid a volatile situation but hopefully that's not even an issue and I'm just getting ahead of myself anyway. 

In the end, I agree to disagree and neither of us are scouts or GMs. The guys that are didn't view it as a viable option and that's all I really need to know

I never said Foles was definitely a franchise-altering QB.  If he were, yes teams would be lining up to sign him.  I said he could be, if his playoff and SB performances are any indication, and that trading a 2nd rounder (never said I'd trade a 1st and 4th) for him would be worth it, especially given his cheap contract.  Obviously teams have concerns and they probably also saw what happened with Bradford and said "fool me once..."

 

And one thing to remember is this: while Wentz helped the Eagles get to the playoffs, Foles actually won the SB.  So maybe the Eagles don't even need Wentz, if a guy like Foles (or hell, anybody) can win them a SB?

 

And the Bills signing AJM doesn't change much.  He's being paid a pittance.  If anything, it sends a message to the Eagles that the Bills aren't in desperate need to trade for Foles now and will explore trading up in the draft, using multiple 1st rounders if need be, to get a rookie.  While their offer of a 2nd rounder still stands.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I lived in Fort Myers for 21+ years and then we moved to Augusta, GA for the last 3 year’s. We just moved back to Cape Coral, a man made island just off of Fort Myers. When I was here last I believe you’re right, it was called Gators and it was on Colonial Blvd/Veronica Shoemaker.
