Pine Barrens Mafia

My favourite G-tune, played it horribly as a kid growing up, fun time signatures that were a mystery until the internet made all this stuff instantly available...  :D

Phil couldn't handle this drumming and lead vocals, Bill Bruford filled in for the first tours.  Maybe pop crooning was later done so Phil could drum and sing at the same time, preferably a bit further away from the audience.

Totally forgot about this one until I stumbled across it last night. Released well after Jimi's death it never made it past a vinyl release. I found free (and presumably legit) downloads off archive.org which at times sound like whoever uploaded needed to brush the dust off their needle and/or recorded from a slightly warped LP.

From that era, there’s this song which they never played live. Stumbled upon this cover that isn’t played horribly, but what’s really interesting is that it’s a true 360 video, if you’re watching on a pad you can tilt your device to pan the room, it’s freaky.

Funny stuff. I had no idea who Walter Murphy was until I googled him.

Not my usual kind of post. But I just saw this and thought "holy crap that's one great performance for men 30 years past their prime" (at least the two top billed performers). If I had to pick a nit, I'd say it's a bit too close to the studio album for a live performance for my tastes, but that's a very minor nit, in this case.
