Marbury vs Madison however tipped the scales when the court took the Constitution to themselves, and claimed to be the arbiter of it. Since then, we have a branch with authority over the other 2 because they can simply over rule them both. This was never the intent of the framers, and certainly isn't an enumerated power under the Constitution.

I wouldn't agree with this. Each branch has checks over the others, which did not go away. The Court has no authority to create law, nor do they have any mechanism to enforce their rulings. They have no more authority over the other two branches than the other two have over the Court.

Marbury v. Madison was a natural extension of the "cases or controversies" mandate of Article 3. However, it was completely unethical for Marshall to take part in the case (much less write the decision), since it was his !@#$up on the last day of Adams' administration that created the issue of the case.

As for his family life, Cruz was adopted by Lynda Cruz, said Kathie Blaine, her cousin.

More than three months ago, on November 1, she died after battling the flu and then pneumonia, Blaine told CNN. Cruz's father had died more than a decade ago due to a heart attack.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said Cruz's digital profile contained what he called "very, very disturbing" content.

Someone who saw his online posting should have reported him.

Create a database that keeps track of the amount of ammunition and clips an individual buys. Make them prove they used those items before they can buy more. Also, before a person can buy a gun in the first place he/she has to pass a Psychological evaluation.

At least it’s something. What we can’t do is nothing. Enough is enough already. RIP and prayers to all that are effected by this tragedy.

Who the hell is going to oversee that operation?

You're basically saying it'll be the DMV of guns?  Where does it say in the Constitution that it's necessary?

Where in the Constitution is that freedom limited?  Because, you are trying to limit ammunition you think it's ok.

1. Whoever is in the business of selling those weapons.

2. Where in the constitution does it say you need an AR-15?

3. Damn right it’s ok. Who the hell needs mutilple clips?

1.  Do you expect them to be able to completely do this and do so honestly?  There would need to be gov monitoring,Shirley.

2. Where in the Constitution does it say you don't?

3. Anyone.

1. It’s easier than you think. Sellers would have to prove their sales annually. Inventory out has to match the inventory that goes in.

2. The nature of the second amendment is for protection and maybe for sport like hunting. When you go hunting you don’t need an assault rifle with multiple clips.

3. What kind of protection does anyone need that requires multiple clips for an assault rifle? You expecting a gang to enter your house or something?

1.  No, it's not. The DMV can barely function and they serve the same porpoise as the agency you'd want to create.  And, also, I'll ask this: who will pay for the registration records?

2.thats how you read it. That's your take. That's not how many read it. Sorry, you're dumb

3. Why does the gun need to be for protection?

And I was replying to Tiberius who asked what other country has shootings like this. Iraq does.

Well, it certainly is wildly inconsistent.

You read about a 2nd grader being suspended for a week for drawing a gun, but an 18 year old who actually threatens a school slips through the cracks

There are many, many stores that sell guns and ammo. You suggesting having a DB that is inter-connected that would track John Doe’s purchases of multiple products at multiple locations at multiple times?

not so simple is it.

You can be brave and tough with a second grader. You just wish the 18-19 year old disappears from your life.

Create a database that keeps track of the movements of all Muslims and where they pray.  Make them prove they have no radical influences or thoughts whatsoever before they can move here.  Also, before a Muslim can buy a pressure cooker in the first place he/she has to pass a Psychological evaluation.

My bright idea:. Not to open my mouth before I have the facts of the situation, a diagnosis of the situation and a conclusion.

I also support teachers being able to carry weapons.

And, if you have no sense of humor than sky fairy have mercy on your soul.

That’s cool. I get it. I really do. But you want to know what? I’m down with that if white people are down with it too. You like to sit up on your high horse and act like you’re the good guys. Newsflash bro. There isn’t a more violent race than the whites.

Blacks gotta register for KFC.  A database for buying watermelon on food stamps.  And Newports.

Mexicans cannot get Goya without proper licensing.

Asians are banned from driving in fast lane.

Canadians must speak with English before coming in to this country.

lol, yeah, whites are more violent because they managed to conquer the world despite making up a relatively small fraction of the population.  Whatever dude.  To me, this ain't about race.

I'm glad the point of my post wasn't completely lost on you, but your conclusion is sad to me.  I want all American citizens to enjoy the rights preserved for them in the Constitution, including any that happen to be Muslims.  Stripping people's rights is always bad.

The "easy" solution would be an aggressive gun ban. That'd take a lot of guns out of circulation. There'd still be a lot of 'illegal' guns, but it'd be a start. But that's not going to happen until we as a society agree to it, and we certainly don't at the moment. If we keep the same amount of firearms, the only way to lower the amount of these situations, is to have some comprehensive changes on the social safety net side of things, AND a general societal change where we are kinder to each other. And, again, neither of those are going to be changed anytime soon.

So... thoughts and prayers it is. It sucks. It really !@#$ing sucks. But it's the price of "freedom", I guess.
