Should the Bills trade up for their own “Julio Jones”
nedboy7 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
My guess is Bean moves up if his target is there. I fully support it if it's not the Edmunds of WRs. -
For whatever its worth: PFF says he was 12th out of 46 qualified (300+ run snaps) LBs vs the run.... and he was slightly better than Bernard in coverage, just behind (ex Bill) Terrell Edmunds

I think the Bears need someone to keep blockers off of Edmunds, and they have some space. Git 'er done Buddy!

Von miller contract Dawson Knox contract Stephen diggs contract Defense line draft picks that never pan out Defense tackle signings that are not good enough No reliable pass rusher Wyatt Teller give away Edmunds Star contract Just curious why he is so highly regarded when these issues have come to roost fully

last year people were getting all worked up about losing Edmunds, who is going to replace him. Beane said- sometimes the replacement is already on the roster. Terrel Bernard is a dawg! This year people are getting all worked up about replacing Diggs. Beane said- sometimes the replacement is already on the roster. Beane very well can be talking about Hamler or Shavers or Shorter

Bills’ player grades for 2023 from the Athletic and PFF.
GASabresIUFan replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bernard is just learning the things that Edmunds did well, but as someone else pointed out earlier, Bernard has the added ability to make the big play. I'll take a few mistakes here and there for a guy who can make a drive-stopping play. Last season Bernard had 143 tackles (84 solo), 6.5 sacks, 3 Fumble recoveries, 3 Ints, and 10 tackles for loss. That's an amazing season for anyone, much less a 2nd-year pro and 1st year starter. Edmunds has never had a stat line close to this good. Edmunds only has 6.5 sacks for his career. his best solo tackle season was his rookie year with 80, and he only has 1 FR for his career. When this kid learns more about O schemes and how to shed blocks faster, he'll be a great LB. He also needs to possibly get a little bigger. Pro-football-reference lists Bernard as 6'1 224. Edmunds is 6'5 250. -
The player is either good enough to extend or not worth 1 more year with the 5th year option. What did the Bills really accomplish by using the 5th year option on Edmunds & then letting him walk? The goal is to get a guy who will earn a 2nd contract, not just 1 more year before he leaves because the team had to make a decision after his 3rd season.

I get the minority hiring comp picks or if a team truly wants a player back, but it seems weird that if a team actively lets a player go, why should they get a comp pick. Edmunds for example, it really doesn’t seem like we had any intention of re-signing him. Then we have a SB team getting the most comp picks, so we can’t say they are given out for parity.

One of the things that Beane appeared to address differently this year and maybe even already last year was picking players who performed high in college as opposed to in the early years of Beane as GM was picking players more based on potential and ceiling. A couple that come to mind were Knox, Edmunds, even Allen. I suppose it made more sense back than as the team was in a more longer term building mode whereas now they are looking to replace players with a new younger version right away.

Somehow, this is probably Edmunds' fault... * 😁

We have seen Shakir and what he can do already. He just needs to maintain the same consistency. Nobody thought Bernard was going to play anywhere near as well as he did when he was thrust into a starting role with the loss of Edmunds. He really looked lost the year before. I don't know who is going to surprise us like that this year. Would like to see a rookie rise up and take a starting position.

1st Round Draft Poll...WWBD (what will Beane do)?
Mark Vader replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with your take. I'm still pissed that we didn't get that 3rd rounder for Edmunds. I do think that Beane will look to move up, but I don't think there will be any takers. Trading down seems very likely. Maybe we move down a couple spots with San Francisco, and get one of their many draft picks. Then find someone early in the second round to trade with? -
2024 Buffalo Bills Roster - All 91 Spots filled
SoCal Deek replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
When you see it laid out like this you realize how much turn over there’s been in the last couple of seasons from the entrenched ‘household’ names we’d all become accustomed to during this era of Bills football. Now gone are: Singletary Morse Gabe Davis Diggs Edmunds Tre White Poyer Hyde I know it’s all part of the business but it has to be weird for guys like Josh, Milano and Ed Oliver to look around the locker room. -
Buffalo Gets 4th round comp pick
transplantbillsfan replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is irritating. Last year when Edmunds was walking there were so many people in terms of podcasters and posters on here saying we'd get a 3rd because it's a formula. So to those of you who said it would be a 3rd, what happened? -
Bills spent the second most in the nfl on defense
Buffalo_Stampede replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh is a player. How about blaming players on defense that disappear in the playoffs, especially vs KC. Ed Oliver, Matt Milano, Poyer, Hyde, Edmunds… -
There are a LOT of bad safeties and bad team safety situations in the NFL. The Eagles are another one. They were so desperate at the position that they traded for kevin byard mid-season (early 5th, early 6th, and terrell edmunds), although that was a failure and he’s no longer on the team. Let’s wait and see. Maybe the Bills thought their o-line room was pretty set. Do you think Kyle Dugger was a bad value pick? He was 37th overall.

One month out, who are Your Guys in the draft?
Kirby Jackson replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
When I hear Beane talk about WRs it sounds like McConkey to me. When I think about the athletic profiles that Beane has gone after early (Josh, Edmunds, Rousseau, Oliver, Elam) he loves physical talent with upside. His actions make me think it’s Legette. -

I gots to know where he stood on Edmunds, before I can offer an opinion. 🤔 -
i wonder how much better fraziers defense would have been with bernard rather than edmunds in the middle. edmunds was usually a step behind.

Poyer talks about 13 seconds
Buffalo_Stampede replied to JakeFrommStateFarm's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we’re going to get answers on McDermott over the next couple seasons. Im interested to see how the rebuild on defense goes. Terrel Bernard’s success kind of made me dig in deeper for McDermott. I mean he literally hand picked that guy to replace Edmunds and every fan and media member thought he was crazy. -
You seem to be able to see into the future.., or you just had a knee jerk reaction, remember Edmunds? And the hole 🕳 he supposedly would leave in our defense? In actuality it never happened …, and we got better because of him being let go…,

Bills’ player grades for 2023 from the Athletic and PFF.
Richard Noggin replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
YOOOOO...but what about this obvious and bizarre and IRRELEVANT insertion of posthumous narrative spin about Tremaine effing Edmunds?! (Used to unnecessarily mitigate Bernard's NOT TERRIBLE ranking (22) -- just a sad remnant of local contrarianism) -
What is your unpopular Bills opinion?
Ridgewaycynic2013 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. You will all eventually rue the Edmunds trade. 2. You all already rue the day they assigned me a Two Bills Drive account. * 😁
