I suppose they’re also going on a honeymoon?! Where’s the dedication of this guy?! He’s getting as bad as Aaron Rodgers!! #sarcasm It's actually perfect planning. Wedding this weekend. Honeymoon fun. Superbowl win. Their child, Lombardi (or Lombarette) will be born in March. 2 1 Quote
Juice_32 Posted Sunday at 03:39 PM Posted Sunday at 03:39 PM Engaged Josh Allen was a problem for the rest of the NFL. Married Josh Allen will be an even bigger problem. But the final boss will be...dad Josh Allen. Multiple SB wins coming when this dude has kids to play for and a touch of old man strength set in. 1 2 1 Quote
blacklabel Posted Sunday at 03:44 PM Posted Sunday at 03:44 PM I was very rudley not invited. And I was wedding-ready too! One of my cousins got married down at Chautauqua Institution on Friday so I already had the monkey suit on. About a three hour round trip, first time the wife and I had a date in forever, lotta fun, late night so of course my four year old was ready to be up and at 'em by 5:30 on Saturday morning. Kid can't roll his rump outta bed at 7 for preschool most days but come the weekends he's suddenly Mr. Early Riser. I still gotta find the guy who convinced me kids were a good idea and kick him in the junk. 6 Quote

It was quite rare back then (in my neck of the woods anyway) and people would almost brag about it had they been to one. Especially considering that the average cost of a wedding back then was only $2k. I just did a little research and found a post by a bartender who did weddings in the 70's - he said the open bar was around $600 for 2 hours. So the open bar would have been about 30% of the total wedding cost. Long story short, maybe the others in this thread have very affluent friends. Or maybe you and I just grew up around very poor people 🤣 This chat is going through a culture shock of non-buffalo events having infinitely less alcoholics. I knew I was an alcoholic in Buffalo, then I moved and realized exactly how unhealthy that cities relationship is with booze lol I live near a bar and am always shocked to see the crowds start leaving from 10-11p. When I drank, we were just finishing up pre-gaming at a house LOL Columbian Marching Powder would get the bullpen call right about midnight! Weaklings! Thank God I got sober lol def would've missed out on seeing Buff get a ring 4 Quote
muppy Posted Sunday at 04:13 PM Posted Sunday at 04:13 PM I prefer to wait to see what they post on their Instagram feeds. I loved seeing the dress though . And it is natural to want to see who is there. Sometimes you have a ceremony and the reception has more people. depends on how small or big they want to go They don't need to worry about finances clearly. I love that her dress was not puffy or Cinderella. It fits her style perfectly. She has amazing style from what I have seen IMO Based on both of their busy schedules I'm sure this date was chosen carefully. This so me is like a royal wedding. I mean seriously. 3 Quote

I’m curious if any dads who have actually hosted a daughters wedding agree with that opinion. In my experience, brides want every thing to go smoothly on their wedding day. Don’t get me wrong. I think todays weddings are very much “over produced”. My girls were both strongly encouraged to hire a “wedding planner” for another couple thousand on top of other costs. To their credit both girls figured that they didn’t need a planner. But a quick run through so everyone knows what they do when? I think that’s a good idea. 1 2 Quote

You don't have to remember your lines. You just repeat after the celebrant. What are you rehearsing? Walking? It's also an opportunity for in-laws who may not be very familiar with each other to spend some time then share a meal together. 3 1 Quote
