Bills OTAs

  • YoloinOhio changed the title to Bills OTAs - Phase 1

When asked about the energy Jordan and Shaq bring to the team, McD brought up Tim Settle’s name unsolicited as a guy who also compares, meaning he left an undeniable impression. McD said he wants it to stay on the field so it doesn’t become a detriment. Hopefully Settle can be found gold for the Bills, he was behind some real difference makers in Washington.

Tre White is on schedule ? For when is that exactly week 1 ?

They won’t say, though they are asked in every media session . Beane said recently he doesn’t want to put a date on it but hopeful he’s ready to start the season

Players under contract who choose to skip voluntary workouts just because they have not received a new contract of their liking, can go pound salt.

I’m looking at you Poyer.

Not to sound cliche, but this really is just about business, and Poyer is the least of my concerns at this time.  He's a consummate professional, a hard worker, and he wants to be here, and Beane WILL get it done.

We need White to be 100% to play.

If that's later in the regular season, so be it.

Dane Jackson is really going to have to step up as will Kaiir Elam.

So is it okay if no one shows up?  What makes it okay for just the disgruntled one(s) to blow it off?

it is voluntary so yes, no one is required to show up...hence the term voluntary

Doesn't seem all that long ago that Poyer was unhappy about his contract and wanted to renegotiate, and the Bills did.

right and the number of years that he got extended that time have passed already, so it's essentially the same situation.

Micah Hyde, Daquan Jones and Rodger Saffold not there….and not for contractual reasons.

We should probably trade or cut them now. They obviously don’t care enough about the team.

Part of an NFL players responsibilities are to the fans and organization but not solely to them.  Just like you and me, there is a personal responsibility and he is in the middle of negotiations and from his perspective this is the last chance he has at getting a multiyear contract that will forever secure he, his family and his legacy.

It is a voluntary workout, he doesn't have to be here and I don't begrudge him one bit on what he believes is best for his families interests.   He is an old pro, him missing some voluntary workouts is not going to affect him one bit when it comes to his play on the field.
