Patrick Duffy
I like it. Short year or 2 signing hopefully at fair price. The Tenn OL was really good last season. Even during all their injuries it seemed as if they didn't skip a beat. This guy was a part of that. So I can get behind it

Big Blitz
We'll draft a guard to compete with Bates and maybe bring in one more but the oline is set and I think it's got potential to be an elite one if Brown makes a huge leap. Like a top 5 line if that happens.

Yeah, I'm not sure where to find game by game breakdown re the types of plays run. There is no doubt that Allen's skills are at their best when he is under center and that, early in the season he was under center less than later in the season. I'm not sure if it was Daboll, the inconsistency of the line play, something else, or a combination of things, but it was an issue. With Allen, they really do need to have a running game tht defenses respect. He certainly can win without a good running game, but he is even a better QB with a decent running game. I think it's possible that has something to do with Burrow and Tannehill, not to mention the sort of passing game they run. Also in Tennessee, the absence of Henry and the fear he puts into opposing pass rushers may have had an effect. Though to be fair, Tannehill had 2 awful games (6 sacks, 7 sacks) and they were Weeks 1 and 4...against the Jets. the Freakin Jets.

Logic
Saffold couldn’t stop talking about the training facility. The training facility continues to be one of the very best and smartest things the Pegulas have done since becoming owners. It cannot be overstated how big a role it plays in luring quality players here, getting players to re-sign here, and keeping players healthy. 4 7

NewEra
So Saffold a contract is a 2 year deal, similar to sanders’ last year. 1 year deal split between this year and next, didn’t see the numbers each year though. Smart move Beane

Buffalo_Stampede
I'm going with 2 years $7 million. The 2nd year is to spread it out, really just 1 year. Yes, I agree, you can find good value free agents, but it is almost never on day 1 of free agency. We'll see what the Saffold deal looks like... machine gun kelly
Works for me. I haven’t heard from my TN friends he’s dropped off on his play. We’ll probably do a second day draft option. I doubt two though. We still will be looking for a CB, possible WR if we don’t agree to a deal with Landry, and yes probably another DE or DT. I still think we should bundle picks and get the best quality if we can get trade partners. We most likely need about four to five high quality picks. I wouldn’t be surprised if we draft a punter in the 7th and potentially dump. Haack even if he did take a pay cut.

But if I have to choose between the pass blocker or the run blocker, and I pay my QB $45M+, I’m taking the pass blocker. I know we didn’t like the Williams contract. But 12th highest paid OG in the league is trending towards average and we got that production out of him. My initial thought is I would have preferred to maybe extend Williams and up his guaranteed money to lower his cap hit rather than pay a premium for Saffold. There’s also a strong possibility I am an idiot. So who can really say who is right and who isn’t? as said above, williams is not a kromer guy (gets off balance, misses reads sometimes and blocks the hash mark, while being a fairly talented veteran), this guy is. kromer likes em nasty and agile, morse it think is just an overall solid pro, bates is really cheap vs his quality at G, our LT is a good one. i think the giant rookie we have at RT (2nd year next) is a kromer guy because he's raw and coachable but freakishly athletic. i kinda hope ford is too, but he just seems like a total dud.

Agreed. Gotta wait for the numbers.

That’s why I said extension…..he signed the day before FA, like Isaiah, who I mentioned as a value. They didn’t hit the market but their contracts were up and were scheduled to be UFA the following day. It was their choice to give us a value contract. It’s PRE free agency with a player that was cut. We have to hope the lure of Kromer and chasing a ring is what brought him here, not a mega bucks contract. I have faith it will be a reasonable deal, but time will tell.
