Roll Call for SNF @ Pit

I've been planning on attending this game all year.  My cousin, a Pittsburgh native, set aside his tickets for me earlier this year.  I'm totally pumped!  I've never seen the Bills play as an away team and never been to a night game.

I had a sneaking suspicion it was going to be flexed, even though Bulldog disagreed with me when I got on the air in early October... ?

So who's in?

I'll be watching from the couch.  I hope to see Red and Blue all over that stadium.  Make it look like a home game.  It's just a great feeling seeing our fans having a better turnout than the home team.

It will be tough to make that stadium look like a Bills home game. Steeler Nation are just as die hard of fans and Buffalo Bills fans and usually fill their stadium pretty well. It will definitely be a tough game no matter who is in that stands though. Tomlin may just be up for coach of the year considering what he has been able to do with his team with all their injuries....three different QB's, one of which is a third stringer.

Edit: Oh, and I'll be watching from the couch as well. :) Go Bills!!!

Yeah, you can't discredit Tomlin at all for what his team has been through this year.  After getting blown out that first week, I thought their season was over before it started.

I'll be there with a crew of hometown homies and college broksis.  Hoping to get to the Bills tailgate, but far too many of my friends are Stillers fans, so it might be hard to drag them along (but would love to say to Kenny, Captain, et al.).

We'll be in one of the Gold Lots, hopefully near Stage AE, which is where my crew of Stillers season holders park.  Should be a fun one!

Yeah.  Just dumb.  That's almost as bad as Rivera actually getting fired.  These are two gems that you shouldn't get rid of.  They may be no Belicheck, and may have up and down seasons, but both guys are worth holding onto.

I am there in the upper reaches of the end zone where the degenerates sit (according to the other thread on Pats fans)!

Think our plan for the day will shake out something like brunch and early games somewhere.

Move to a sports bar closer to the stadium for the start of the 4PM games..some wings about 4.30 or so, then walk to the stadium/lots with beers in backpack about 5.Visit @Heitz and his crew in the Gold lot( dandy that he is), then walk over to the Bills tailgate, then to the stadium about 7:30.

If we have and Steeler game vets here, do the bars near PNC park on Clemente Blvd get overwhelmed on game day..especially a night game? That would be perfect place to maybe start tailgaiting at about 3.30, but hate to walk there and not be able to get a table

Totally agree Cap! Anyone who says Tomlin needs to get fired is a complete idiot and knows nothing about football.

I'll be there.  Lower level kinda where the pylon is.  This night game blows.  Have to kill all day long doing something as to not have to sit in a hotel room.  Ugh.

Could get a little rough for visiting fans in there too.  Hunker down.  Stay the course!  lol

Sounds like a dangerous plan! ??

Also, we'll all be Slippery Rock fans on Saturday, watching the game downtown somewhere.  If anyone wants to have a beer or three, we'll post where we're watching in this tread (you know, once we know).

ST holder here living in Pitt but I plan to watch this one at Mario's East Side Saloon (apparently home of the Pitt Bills Backers).  I have my reasons for not going to the game.

what are your reasons for not going to the game?!?!?!?!?!?!?  There are no good reasons.  Get here!!!!

Also, question: do you drive up and back for Bills games?  I had ST's one year and did that.  Exhausting, but doable.

There is a HUGE contingent of Steeler fans that want Tomlin Canned.

Steelers fans are spoiled brats.  Living here, I can't even listen to anything Steelers on sports radio.  It's like the world is ending if they lose one game, and the amount of "Tomlin sucks," is ridiculous.

Steelers fan friend I know, understands football and the Steelers as much as the most intense fans on this board know the Bills, is extremely smart and also is very over Tomlin and his schtik

Here are some ideas of what to do in PGH:

https://travel.usnews.com/Pittsburgh_PA/Things_To_Do/

https://www.planetware.com/tourist-attractions-/pittsburgh-us-pa-pt.htm

personally, I recommend the Science Center, Incline,  Strip District and History Center.  The Science Center currently has a Mummy exhibit that is getting GREAT reviews (have not gone yet).  It also has a decommissioned WWII era submarine that you can tour.  The Incline is just fun, great views, and lots of bars/restaurants in Station Square.  The Strip District is also a fun place to visit, better on Sat morning because everything is open, but still a good place to hit up on Sunday Morning.  Finally, the History Center is really good, and there is a Sports History Center attached to it (although it is a Western PA sports history center).

Someone also mentioned casinos.  Rivers Casino is also right downtown.  Good place if you're into gambling.

PM me if you need any other suggestions!

Night games are a lot of fun to go to,  but if it’s anything like The Ralph, er, The NErF, it’s Thunderdome out there after the sun goes down ;)

yep, drinking begins at 7am.

Steelers 12-3 or something in last 15 home primetime games.  Crazy record.  Lets make that 12-4!!!!

I'll be there.  Section 506.  Freezing my a** off and being loud for Bills.

Reasons for not going to the game - family considerations.  Enough said.

Yes, I do drive up & back home to Gibsonia for home games.  Only occasionally do I stay over.

I may try to stop by the Saturday night party at Mario's, we'll see.  Likely will be there Sunday night.

sorry, didn't mean to sound prying with the reason for not going to the game comment.  Just giving you a hard time/bad attempt at being funny :)

That's dedication driving up and back for all the home games.  And Gibsonia!!!!!  That's  awesome. What township?  I was in Hampton for a while.  I think Wexford Ale House was an "unofficial" Bills Backer Bar.  The owner is from Buffalo.  Beef on Weck was (perhaps still is) on the menu.  The wife is not a huge fan of the place, so I haven't been in a while.

Tomlin has never had a losing season in his 12 full seasons as a HC. He's won the division 6 times, made the playoffs 8 times (maybe 9 if they get in this year) won the conference twice and the SB once.

He's just 47 years old.

Some people don't know how good they've got it.

No problem.  We can hash it out at the tailgate, because my plans have changed and I'm IN.  Will be at the game (section 113), just got my tix.

Ironically, this will be the shortest commute to a Bills game that I've ever had in my 10 years as a STH!!!!

Gibsonia is in Richland Township, just north of Hampton.

Awesome.  Hope all is well with the family.    I'm nearby in Pine.   Hope to see you at the game!

Pumped about driving up from NVa.  Got a lifelong friend in Pittsburgh who got some skybox tickets.  Get to see how the other half cheers.  If we lose, at least I won't be cold and maybe wet.  Yay me!  I like our chances!!  Go Bills!!

if someone planing on going to Mario"s can DM me their cell number i would be highly appreciative.Jacksonville has scarred me from going to the "official" night before places, as the onslaught of #Billsmafia is more than expected. So if someone was there and keep me informed of the situation, i would buy them a beer at the game!

I am not attending, but have found that drinking copious amounts of Rolling Rock beer can:

1.)  Keep one’s self heating system quite functional.

2.)  Render the drinker safe behind a chemically produced wall of green death.

*

As Sgt. Esterhaus used to say, “Let’s be careful out there.”

WE WERE ON THE PLANE!!

Bummer, a ground delay in DC has put our (well, I'm traveling alone, but my Mafia friends are also on this flight) is likely going to make us miss the connect.  That said, we're moving forward people - make it to DC, then we figure out to how to get to the 'Burgh ??
