All Duke has done since he got here was work hard and perform and all the organization has done is disrespect him. Duke should have made the team at the end of the preseason instead he's cut. He finally gets his chance off the practice squad and produces in the exact game on the line scenario he thrives in, scores the winning TD. He gets 2 more games (one of which he got hurt) and then never again. The idiotic assessment by the coaching and management of this guy has cost this team wins. Today was another example of where he could have been used but instead we have the useless Mckenzie or mediocre Foster. Exactly, that td in Tennessee was huge and thank god we won that game otherwise we are looking at not making it into the playoffs. But fans will constantly tell us Daboll and McDermott always make the right decisions. Gore is also done by the way. this guy shouldn’t even be in the nfl at this point. He’s a hall of famer but stick a fork in that guy already.

JPP
Duke may not be the fastest & Duke is not under 5 '10"....my god man...play him in red zone situations.....this monster just has to reach his hands way up in the air and TD!! He did it before......there was no reason for him being benched IMO....

Well, catching passes certainly would not have hurt...

BananaB
Duke definitely brings something to the table that the others don’t. The deep pass isn’t connecting so having the big body WR who can make grabs in traffic would be useful.

There are also players that look good in pre season. then melt down when the bullets fly. a single example is Nathan Peterman. Personally, there has to be something not clicking with Williams. These coaches never like to admit a mistake and TBH most of them are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. SJDK
When we win not much is said about Duke being inactive. Today we lost and I think he could have made a difference. My question is rhetorical but what element does McKenzie bring to the table that we don’t already have out there? It’s his speed. We have enough speed and quickness. What we don’t have is a big bodied WR who can catch. We have guys that can do what McKenzie does but we don’t have guys that can do what Duke does. 1

This^ I think the Duke love around here is crazy. Whenever we talk about needing a big WR, Duke is mentioned like we have Randy Moss on the practice squad or something. I’m trusting the coaches aren’t seeing much from him to make them believe he can contribute. However, what has Foster or McKenzie contributed ? Even if Duke doesn’t shine in practice, it’s clear the other two guys aren’t very useful, so why not give the big WR more of an opportunity? McD, Daboll and the WR's coach must have their reasons for keeping Duke inactive but it sure seems like it needs a harder look. It's not like we are lighting up the scoreboard, and it makes sense to try a big receiver package w Foster, Duke and some TE's.

Activating a guy that can’t get open to throw 50/50 balls to all day seems like not a very realistic formula for sustained offensive success. Yet here we are. Every week. The same people. (These people who, btw, do not see Duke in practice, as the coaches do, who are making the (likely) wise decision to park his butt on the inactive list.)
