We need a big WR

Not nearly as much as we need flash players. When Isiah McKenzie is the most "electric" offensive weapon, you've got some problems. Singletary has been decent, but I'm really not overly impressed. Nice player, but he lacks a certain POP.

There just isn't anybody on the roster capable of taking a screen/bubble screen and turning it into something big. You see that all over the league.

Some guy who can highpoint a low percentage throw once or twice a game is not the answer.

The Duke has been inactive while they activate both Foster and McKittrick.  While I love me some McKittrick, if you're not going to run the jet sweep, activate The Duke and sit McKittrick down.  If you're gonna run the jet sweep, then sit Foster.  SmokeY has plenty of speed, you need a go to guy like The Duke, because all of a sudden, Knox can't catch a cold, except when he can, but it's a coin flip.  I've also heard The Duke leads the league in saves, strikeouts per inning, and hit batsmen.  This guy threw at his own kid in a father-son game.

It’s Allen’s biggest fault, lack of control with his arm. He throws too hard and too fast all the time. Take a look at Mahomes, he has the ability to throw with nearly identical velocity, but he uses that ability pretty sparingly. The deep ball accuracy is not the disease, it’s the symptom.

Fouts mentioned it multiple times today, with a bunch of other criticisms of Allen’s play today that I was fair.

No, he has actually found touch on a lot of his passes, obviously you really haven’t been paying attention lately. Did you see the wind today? A strong arm was needed...

Yes easy decision to block that hot mess...

Too slow, zero separation, Daboll likes his Smurf McKenzie who’s just about useless...

You could be right about Duke.

The best thing McKenzie does is the jet sweep.  Other than that, he's nothing special.

I agree, he has been better the 2-3 weeks before today. I have posted it here multiple times.

Today was terrible.

I don't think we could properly execute this, such as what N.E. does with four guys in front blocking.  I wouldn't be surprised if it is absent from Daboll's play book.

Holy *****...We must have the weakest group of WRs in the league.  Beasley is good, but only in the slot.  We have no deep threat that can go up and snag the ball.  Luckily, this year's draft is DEEP with WR talent.  No excuse not grab a big body WR talent in the 1st or 2nd round.

McKenzie cant break a tackle to save his life

You may be right. I'm not a fan of Daboll's offense. He goes from "HC candidate" to "FIRED" on a weekly basis, but his overall body of work is sub par.

Nevertheless, the offense doesn't have "springers" for lack of a better word.

You know I agree on Singletary. It isn't a popular opinion but I agree. He is good. He has played well. But I don't see a game changer.

I think is was the wind and tight coverage. But I watched it on tv so I can’t truly say what the field conditions were like...

Never really been too concerned with holding a popular opinion. He's a nice player. He's got a place in this league. But game changer? My eyes tell me otherwise.

Look at how far off he missed his deep throws on the first three drives.  It was by more than 5 yards on two of them.  Having a big bodied receiver wouldn't have changed what happened for those plays nor would the drops by Singletary, Knox, or Beasley.

This thread was made in regards to the Ravens game.  Size was not the issue for our passing game

He didn't miss the deep pass to Brown. They were not on the same page. Looked to me like Allen thought he would run straight up the seam but Brown ran a little outside. If you're going to blame Allen for anything today it's that he didn't make quick decisions with the ball and couldnt beat the blitz. As usual I have trouble judging those plays in real time, I'll have to see what the all-22 shows. One play in particular I remember seeing Singletary open in the flat but Allen didn't look his way and ended up getting sacked. Other than that, in real time I didn't see anything open that he was missing.

The pass to Foster, Foster wasn't evening running full speed until he saw the ball coming his way.  He turned on the jets to late.

Could be, it's so hard to tell watching it live. The miss to Foster I can live with, that was a very difficult throw regardless. He hit the same tight throw to Beasley later on but Beasley dropped it. The miss to Knox was very bad, no excuse for that one.

He has 6 career catches in the nfl.    Beasley catches everything too.....not

There's plenty of tape on Duke Williams to know his strengths, and weaknesses. Reliable hands are surely one of his strengths. But, it's pretty weird to say that he won't be able to catch a fast ball because he is tall.

I wonder what the coaching staff is seeing, or not seeing, in practice to keep Duke inactive.

Does anybody here have any suspicions about what it is?

being stubborn  He's worth a look  Foster isnt doing anything and mcKenzie is useless other than running bubble screens and the jet sweep we seem to have abandoned Nothing else he would be effective in the red zone and on quick tosses inside

Reliable hands is what the tape on Beasley said also.   It’s not him it’s the fast balls

We need a playmaker at the WR position, but people also underestimate how difficult it can be to find one. WR’s are notorious for being slow to adjust to the pro game, and many “sure things” never make it. The Ravens passing game is

mostly dependent on TE’s, and they have no receivers who strike fear into anyone. I’m all in favor of trying to improve our receiver corps, but I’d also invest in improving this disaster of an oline. These guys get pushed around on a weekly basis, and we’ll never be able to assess Allen or the running game until that is remedied .

Beasley also couldn't get separation today-- something he is also good at. Neither could Smoke, or Motor, or McK. The Ravens played tight, tight coverage today. That's why I kept thinking of Duke-- big, strong, and an ability to fight in tight coverage and come down with the ball. That is his wheelhouse. Ya hear me @GunnerBill!

A big WR is needed, though far from the biggest need.  Where has Duke Williams been?  Inactive?  If so, why?

It is,puzzling that Dimarco plays yes he is good,on ST but I see nothing of him as a lead blocker

I think DiMarco is on the team for SpT, specifically.  He certainly doesn't bring much to the offense.
