Buddo
Good luck to him. Yes a down year last season, but overall he played pretty well and was fun to watch. He also bought in after being unexpectedly traded, which even with the new contract, wasn’t a given. Nice that he gets to rejoin Reid also. Utah John
So why not trade Shady instead of cutting him. We got something for friggin Bodine, after all. My theory is, since if he was traded the new team picks up his full salary, there weren't many takers for even a mid-round pick, and the Bills didn't want to embarrass him by trading him for a 6th or 7th. So they cut him instead, which except for a paycut which shouldn't matter that much at this point in his career, puts him onto the best team in football. I'm sure getting cut hurts for him, but he'll feel a lot happier right quick. I will miss him. He is not what he used to be, but what he used to be was really special. The fourth best Bills RB of all time, which doesn't sound impressive, but that's after Simpson, Thomas, and Gilchrist.

He served his time, played damn well here and got screwed as we set him up to fail at the QB and O-line last year. I would understand your contract point if it actually meant something but it doesn't at all. You make it sound like the NFL and owners are struggling financially due to the cap they set for a reason? Should I feel bad about Pegulas $ when it has zero impact on the team this year? Hell no, all we know is Gore is OLD AF and DEVIN is Unproven. Playoffs?
Regarding Shady, can someone explain why this was a money move for Buffalo that truly made sense this year? I get that he was overpaid given the output.... but unless we were using that 6M to help bring in a big name player, why not just pay him?... get rid of Yeldon instead. (Id take Shady straight up over Yeldon). We weren’t in cap trouble.. and he leaves next season. Or is the explanation simply that Terry gets to save money?

I agree, what good is it to have the money unless they were planning to use it, cut that loser Murphy if you want to save money. Murphy is a classic Beane signing, high motor with limited skills and no other team wants.

And of course a young qB with great potential. Yes we have to see how they do but it is really tiring to keep reading about how they did nothing for the offense. 4 minutes ago, oldmanfan said: You can’t win without defense either, and that’s what will happen with Reid. I realize that you're here to criticize first, but just for fun, you might occasion to think about what you're saying. Also, you might want to let NE know that the run-oriented model doesn't work. Maybe you can convince them that they did not, in fact, win the super bowl with it last year. Beating the pass happy Chiefs and Rams in the process.
