His job is going to be to penetrate and live in the backfield and not eat up blockers so others can make plays. 4

Incredibly high ceiling. I figured Jax would make the smart pick. OTOH I was glad Hock was off the board. Didn't want the temptation to stray away from Ed who I think is just as safe and high caliber as Josh Allen.

I love the Oliver pick...but I think the naysayers will say he weighed 287 at the combine loaded up on fluids and likely plays closer to 275 (still MUCH bigger than a modern LB). starrymessenger
I don't think people quite get it. Core strength can be as much a God given attribute as speed, agility etc... Ed Oliver is just tremendously strong for his weight. He's a lot like Donald that way.

The Senator
Why the whining? Couple of months in that new weight room and a few meals at Mulberry’s, he’ll be 310 in no time. Christ, kid’s 22 and still growing. .

Very happy Beane didn’t panic and let the board come to him. Exactly... It was actually a bit weird to see them stay put and pick the guy everyone said they would/should... I was thinking...Who is this team?...?

Agree. Add to core strength elite athleticism and a rather violent demeanour ( to say the least) and what you get is a great player at a position of dire need. Frankly I'm ecstatic. Now I'm just hoping our HC can keep his hands off another DB. His head must be spinning. Edited April 26, 2019 by starrymessenger
