REPORT: Steelers trading Antonio Brown to Bills! - Per Ian Rapoport (Hold up....maybe, maybe not....) EDIT: DEAL NOT HAPPENING PER BRANDON BEANE - UPDATE: Traded to Raiders

NFL Network is running a piece about this story right now; think this is the first new content they have shown since this thing broke last night.

Rapoport was just on; didn't back off the story at all; all signs pointing to AB being a Bill when the season starts.

What time is it over there? 6am? Is RapSheet really up at 6am talking about whether AB becomes a Bill?

Wow. Get some sleep man.

ESPN made absolutely no mention of the Bills when just now talking about AB. I guess NFL Network is going all in on this trying to back their guy. Again, I hope this doesn't happen. It would be the dumbest move of this FO by far.

i agree...i just think it would be a bad investment.

Not happening, AB doesn't want to come here and the Bills never really made an offer.

What do you know? Are you just saying things because you don't want the glass house you live in smashed because your idols don't hold true that same stuff you do?

I guess you're right. I personally don't put much stock in sports reporting. They're all being manipulated by agents, teams for their own gain, and subject to their own bias. I suppose all media is like this to an extent, I guess I just don't care because in the grand scheme of things it's just entertainment. When it happens in sport only a clown like Jeremy White gets worked up over it.

These guys get stuff wrong all the time. They'll just say talks broke down and move on.

Good to see you backing off your high horse (a little). It was getting old..

That report by Schefter IMO was Schefter speaking for AB and his agent, trying to get money.

This is going to happen, but it's going to be a lot of money.

Because it's a WR that costs a lot of money when we're still developing a QB.

It's not smart. It's not a team building move, it's a way to spend stupid money and get fans excited. That's what Buffalo does every few years

yep ...a russ brandon type of move....

Analytics can only grade the players on what the players are asked to do. Smith-Schuster was not asked to run the variety of routes that AB was. Smith-Schuster is a very good player but he isn't AB. Smith-Schuster graded slightly better on PFF but his degree of difficulty was way below AB. AB is the best receiver in the National Football League - he can run every route, he has terrific hands, he can beat press, he is precise enough to beat zone. He had more than double Smith-Schuster's touchdowns - not least because when the field compresses in the redzone you need someone who can do much more route wise.

He is brilliant. Now he is 30 years of age and a total diva, no doubt.... so there are reasons to be wary about the Bills trading for him if it is at a high cost.... but his play on the field is simply beyond question.

Good summation of the situation, but he is a problem until proven otherwise.

6:00am Eastern; he looked exhausted; wearing a suit, makeup on for the camera, etc.

Agents.

Yes, but I don't think agents are behind the Ian Rapoport leak. I think they probably were shocked by the trade and then demanded franchise QB money.

AB's agents probably told Schefter no deal yet because they want the contract 1st.

They interviewed a female reporter who covers the Steelers alot -Aditi forget her last name.  She said she received a lot of calls from NFL teams.  She said she the same response for all teams.

She said Antonio Brown is by far the hardest working player she has ever been around.  He will help young players on both sides of the ball.

Just saw it on NFL breaking news.  They said Bills have been negotiating all along per Ian Rappoport.

Yep, he said something like "this [negotiations with Buffalo] was going on all along in the background" or something like that, to justify missing the story initially, I guess.

Schefter was tweeting at 3am to refute the report. I've heard him interviewed a few times, he seems to love the job but it does seem exhausting to an extent. Then again he's just networking and communicating, many people are working far harder jobs for much less pay. Either way I'll agree, they probably don't sleep well.

And why's this mod trying to troll me? Lol

Na, he's gonna yell at Josh Allen and make him cry and quit football

Gotta love the offseason! It’s actually my favorite time of year.

Being out of the playoffs by Halloween [or Week 1 of the season in 2018] is only so exciting.

In the offseason, we can all dream we are going to win the Superbowl!

AB is a lot like Shady McCoy. Flashy talk, but all work. AB will not be a locker room problem for Buffalo unless Josh Allen can't get him his targets.

They didn't they just wanted to know his going rate. AB would never come here to begin with so this is a dead issue.

HTH do you know that he would never come to Boca??

I'll say this I believe Ian Rapoport is a good journalist. I don't think he would go out on a limb based on what one dodgy source has told him. If he is still saying "all signs pointing to Brown being a Bill" he has got more than one source telling him that OR his one source is very much "horse's mouth".

That doesn't mean it will happen.... as a former journalist I know the perils of fast changing situations. But at the point Rapoport broke the story it was based on more than rumour and summation. He just isn't that kind of reporter.
