Unsatisfying win?

Today's game was a tough one to watch.  Like a lot of Bills games it felt like they were just on the verge of losing for pretty much the whole game.  While I applaud the defenses effort in securing the win it was not the most entertaining game.  Truly a ugly win.  I wonder if Tyrod was qb if I'd feel the same or if the impatience to see Josn having the passing game going is taking away from the win.   I cant remember a walkoff win where I wasnt pumped up if not at least satisfied.  Kudos for them engineering a win

OP is absolutely right. This is a grounded, realistic take. I, too, am happy to escape with the win. But this game was just that. An exposure of the true team. If you are happy squeaking games by and going 7-9, kudos. This team is for you. Until we wake up and realize this is an offensive league, we will not truly compete.

Unless you are a great team there is no such thing, and even then anyone would be hard pressed to actually believe that.

That doesnt mean it is out of bounds to be critical after a win. There really is no correct answer. It's like a terrible pass that should never have been thrown and easily should have been intercepted but it bounced right and was a touchdown. It's still a TD. Sure you can rightfully criticize it but it counts. So there are two legitimate schools of thought.

When you are the stage the Bills are in, however, there is no such thing as an unsatisfying win. Except for your very best bittchers.

Incoming ol dirty b to chastise us all for not criticizing the team enough in a win

In your earlier incarnation, when you hated most everything, you seemed to have often criticized wins and especially players like Tyrod when they played lousy in wins.

For the first 50+ minutes I was rooting for the Bills (partially because I can't help it, and partially because I want to see players like Allen, Edmunds, White etc play well)  but at the end of the game I found myself rooting for the Titans to win.  We aren't going to the playoffs this year, I'd rather the Bills lose 12-10 than win 13-12 and secure a higher draft pick.

Take the win and be happy

We did take the win, and can be happy. But holding back criticism because they simply got the job done is ridiculous. This team is not well staffed or well coached. It’s okay to be unhappy. Even McD is would tell you that Complacency is not acceptable at this point. You don’t think they aren’t watching tape, pointing out problems and miscues? Why should our outlook and approach be any different.

Yeah lets get Cornfed killed by letting him wing it 48 times a game.

Both lines played well today and we had a decent run game.

Take what they give you and the Bills did that.

Every win is satisfying.

That's not to say there can't be criticism when they go look at the tape. That happens with every game.

But you always take an ugly win. Sometimes the difference between a bad and a good team, is who gets the ugly wins.

But do you realize how this messes up the draft next year? Oh, and don’t EVEN mention the comp picks!   ?

Oh my! Beggars can’t be choosy. I am satisfied with the win no matter how ugly it is. Let’s not forget 2games into the season most Bills fans didn’t think this team would win any games. I’ll take them where we can get them.

That was in the dark past when the team was a patchwork rubber dinghy afloat in a sea of **** with absolutely no plan or coherence. This team and regime are different. I trust the process.

This kind of win will set the franchise back at least a decade.

So in other words when you like something it's not okay. But when you don't like something, it is. Got it. :D

Lol

Did you see how they pressed and primped Josh Allen's jersey today? A good QB needs 24 inches circumference to get a proper throwing motion.

Schopp told me his analytics guy said he only had 19. This is basic organizational stuff. If McDermott and Beane can't find proper equipment staff, how can we trust this regime to make draft picks?

q: in the 20 years prior to beane and McDermott, was there any cohesive plans to build the bills?

There was a little bit of that at play.  I'm happy either way but realistically I'm more excited about the young talent rising.

There should be at least 24 hours to enjoy and 6 days to complain after a win.

20 passes 43 runs.   Keep the rookies playing to a minimum until he can learn to not make mistakes.
