Jeez, my great nephew must be done with DB practice with the Tiger Cats by now.  I have to have him back to Sir Robert Bruce Senior Elementary School for just after lunch period!

Better grammar. A point lost on many of our distinguished membership.

Yes, 2020 and 2021.  However, drafted players in the CFL often end up signing with Canadian Tire to be warehouse workers or manager trainees.  Nothing is certain for Montreal.  Hamilton Spectator has a serviceable report on the deal.  www.thespec.com

I wonder if when Kyle retires whether he will go to play in CFL just to sack Johnny. :D

Kyle was gentle on that play. I'm serious, he probably could have killed him if he wanted to, or close to it. I watched that replay plenty of times and I am really pretty sure that Kyle was kind enough to hold back. It was an act of mercy.

The Alouettes needed a spark. Let's hope Johnny doesnt return to his old self. Montreal can be a very tempting nightlife...

He's probably barred from Rue St. Catherines for his own protection.

Yes and if he becomes Flutie 2.0 he won't stay very long.

Not much going on in the sports world this time of year

True. I'm not a fan of the CFL but it's my hometown team and it's still football. It will have to do until the Bills pre season games starts.

This guy is more irrelevant than Tebow from a sports perspective, yet they are both still generating headlines...

Most "sports" stories in the media, at any point in time, don't really have much to do with sports.

Light it up Johnny Football!

Johnny Football, my heinie / he will never amount to anything in the CFL or NFL.

He’s anther Jamarcus Russel, only with less talent and potential.

Total waste of a draft pick.

The Senator is ALIVE! Welcome back, my friend.

I have to say, I'm shocked you were never a Johnny Football fan, as he fits your typical fan-boy profile. Flashy, lot's of hype. Air-raid offense guy (let's not forget your deep love affair with Mike Leach). But if so, good for you. You finally got a QB evaluation right.

I was never a fan. But I hope he does well personally, and professionally if that's the way it works out. I don't expect to see him playing in the NFL again, but who knows?

And wasn't Jeff Garcia "Doug Flutie 2.0"? Or is he not qualified because he didn't start in the NFL?  Or because he was a WAY better QB than Flutie could have dreamed of being?

Thanks Dean / good to be back!

Call me a Leach fanboy, but he’d have made a better Bills coach than Wrecks Ryan, no?

(Yes!)

We'll see step one of the comeback this Friday on ESPN2. Even better, he's playing the team that just traded him. If he can't get motivated for this one, he should just quit

They traded him to give him an opportunity to play because he wasn't better than the starter.   He should be grateful.

He really never had the chance to show it. It was Masoli's job, and he did nothing to lose it. You're right, he is grateful from his comments after the trade. It also helped the guy who recruited him in college is once again his coach. He redshirted under Mike Sherman, because Tannehill was still QB when Manziel arrived.

That's a pretty low bar, but YES, Sen. Anyone would have been better than Ryan.
