I can confidently say the Ravens have the worst QB situation in the league. Joe Flacco has the 4th highest QB cap hit in 2018, and the 6th highest in 2019. Because of the way his contract is set up the Ravens realistically can't get out of it until 2020. Yet their record over the past 2 years is 17-15 and his passer rating was 24th and 26th in those years. The Ravens know they have a bad situation because they just traded into the 1st round for Lamar Jackson, who reportedly had a mid-round grade from most teams. At least Jackson is a question mark they can lean on. But that awful contract puts them in the worst QB situation in the NFL until at least 2020. The Giants are in a similar situation but without the question mark to lean on. Manning has the 10th biggest QB cap hit in 2018 and 9th biggest on 2019. Their record over the past 2 years is 14-18 and his passer rating in those years was 22nd and 25th. Their backup is Kyle Lauletta aka Nate Peterman 2.0. And although Eli is 37 years old his GM has given him a vote of confidence and passed up the opportunity in a QB-rich draft to take one at #2 overall. Until the Bills, Browns, Jets, Chiefs, and Cardinals prove otherwise the Ravens and Giants obviously have the worst QB situations in the NFL. Hard to agree with any of this with AJM as the projected starter that no other team wanted, Allen as a boom or bust prospect, and Peterman as a marginal backup QB who might not last in the league. I'm not saying we have a good situation, I'm saying our situation is a question mark. The Ravens are not a question mark. They're paying Flacco $50 million to be a bottom 10 QB for the next 2 seasons. The Giants have a 37 year old declining QB and no one behind him.

Tannehill may be seasoned, but he's definitely not worthy enough to take his team to the playoffs. If Bradford can actually stay healthy, then we can cross Arizona off this list. But we all know that he can't even make it to the halfway point of any season, and then they'll be left with the overrated cockiness of Rosen. And good gosh, Bortles is just not good at all. I hope he spreads out his paycheck to his defense, because they deserve all the credit for him still being their starter.

I just think that on paper currently, we probably have the worst QB situation in the league In terms of demonstrated QB track record in the NFL, I would have to say - I think there's a handful of contenders -Indy, because of the uncertainty around Andrew Luck's injury makes it by no means a sure thing he comes back near his previous form and based on what they've shown so far McCarron > Brissett. -Chicago, because Trubisky might improve in his 2nd year, but based on what they've shown so far McCarron > Trubisky If the question is "what teams have the lowest QB ceiling or potential?" then we would move up and perhaps Miami would move down, but right now, Tannehill has shown more than McCarron in the league, and Allen has shown nothin'. Ditto Tampa Bay and Jax - in terms of what they've shown so far (YPG, etc) Winston and Bortles have shown more than McCarron. Interesting question. But I’m basing that off of blind homerism. He’s thrown 14 passes in the last 2 years. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t named the starter for week one. Actually I’d be mad if he wasn’t. No need to rush the rookie right in Not directed at you per se but I don't like this way of thinking. Let things play out through OTAs and training camp. If Allen is playing the best you play him. If McCarron is playing the best you play him. If Peterman is playing the best (shudder) then pack it in for the season. Everyone assumes Allen will not be ready yet, but nobody knows. Allen should have a bit more upside compared to Joe Webb, right? Peterman as bad as he was in the first half of the SD game is better for having had that experience. BigDingus
2 hours ago, MAJBobby said: No we dont. Cle, Chi, Indy (Luck throwing yet?), Jax, MIA, Hou (How will Watson respond to Knee), BAL No, those are all superior to ours. Cleveland - Tyrod Taylor has 3 years of starting experience and 8 years in the league. They also have Drew Stanton, been in the league since 2008 and has played in 5 times as many games as our roster combined. Chicago - Trubisky showed promise, and got his rookie season out of the way. He has twice as many starts as our roster combined. Indy - Andrew Luck is returning, and either way he's had more success than anyone the Bills have had since Kelly. Just backing him up and training with him is valuable. They also have Jacoby Brissett who started games with the Patriots & played a year under Bill Belichick, coupled with playing all 16 games last season. Again, over twice as many starts as our unit combined. He posted 3,098 yards (more than Tyrod ever has), 13 TD's and 7 INT's for an 81.7 rating, which is admirable with the roster he had. Jacksonville - Made it to the AFC Championship game last year & almost beat the Patriots. Bortles may not be ideal, but he has a TON more experience than our guys, playing all but 2 games for 4 straight seasons. Threw for 3,687 yards, 21 TD's and 13 INT's last year with an 84.7 rating. Better than what we've had. Miami - Tannehill is back, and has again, been better than anything we've had for 18+ years. Far more starts than our unit combined, along with Brock Osweiler, who's not very good but is better & than Peterman at least, and also has more starts than our unit combined. Houston - Watson showed he's the real deal. Along with him, they have Brandon Weeden who's a quality veteran backup, something again we don't have. Still more starts than our unit combined. Baltimore - Joe Flacco isn't great, but he's at least decent and won a Super Bowl. He has shown he can play well when he wants to, and has far more experience (getting old stating this) than everyone we have combined. As backups, they have RGIII, and Lamar Jackson. RGIII and Flacco can teach their rookie in Jackson far more than Peterman and McCarron can teach Allen.
White Linen
Depends on how you look at the question. This year we may have one of the worst but we have a rookie prospect. I don't think it is but I'm basing that on the opportunity Allen gives us. It's about what teams you wouldn't want to be now or who would I trade my situation for - for theirs.. Giants - No Tampa - No Colts - No Arizona - No Carolina - No Browns - No Detroit - No Titans - No Jax - No Ravens - No (close) Dolphins - No Bengals - No Chiefs - No Denver - No Redskins - No Cowboys - No Edited May 7, 2018 by White Linen
