Ian Rapoport - Bills not going after 2nd pick

How the hell does Ian Rappaport know what Beane and company are doing. You got one thread saying there's information indicating there's an agreement in principle with the Giants for the No. 2 pick and now this thread saying the Bills aren't going for pick No. 2 No one knows diddly squat. Everyone throwing crap at the wall to get people to read their BS.

This just in.................Brandon Beane seen wearing Brown dress shoes. Agreement must be in place for pick No. 1 or Pick No. 4. No other reason why Beane would be wearing Brown shoes. Wait a minute. McDermott seen eating a donut with Orange Frosting while watching an old Western with lots of horses. Agreement must be in place for the Broncos No. 5 pick. No other explanation for why McDermott would be seen doing this. Wait!!!!! Terry Pegula seen boarding his Private Jet while wearing a Green tie. Agreement in place with the Jets for the No. 3 pick. No other way to explain why Pegula would be seen wearing a Green tie while getting on his Jet.

Funny, but maybe one less cup of coffee . . . If rumors that the Browns will pass on Darnold are true, I sure hope we are doing everything we can to move up to 2.

I have it on what I consider pretty good authority that Jets very much like Rosen so I don't believe he is off their board.  I posted this once before and a poster said "no you don't."  Er, okay, believe what you will.  I stand by my comment that they like him.  I have no scoop on Jets view of Mayfield and my Jets fans friends insist they love him.  If they like both Mayfield and Rosen a great deal it explains why they were comfortable going to three far in advance (likely presuming/knowing Darnold or Allen are #1).  And I have no idea whether they like Rosen or Mayfield more.  I hope they like Rosen -- my wish for the Bills is Allen and I don't want Rosen one bit.

Having said that the Rosen vs. Allen debate is greatly polarizing our fine board.  Can we settle on hoping for Baker at #5 or 6?  I have not heard much Mayfield hate.  I would be delighted and willing to let go of my largely unfounded passion for Allen.

Interesting, thanks.  Darnold, Allen, Mayfield, Rosen -- how they should be ranked, imo.  I'd have to imagine the Jets would strongly consider Darnold if Browns take Allen.

I would not give the Cards the chance to make a "desperate" payment where they could take the qb I want.

Nor should they, but I don't think there's a snowball's chance in Hades Darnold falls to 5.

Completely agree, but the 1% chance has me going crazy

I have been getting the NY Times delivered to my house for over 20 years and I generally do not read the sports section except for some of their baseball analysis (Tyler Kepner is good). It is the only paper I get, but the sports section is terrible. It's about as good as their comics section.

As I told WEO you need to expand your horizon. The NY Times exceptionally covers sports such as croquet, chess tournaments with super star Russians,  bridge tournaments and cricket. If you ever earn your way into the lofty status of being a beautiful person you will become an avid reader of their sports page. :)

Yup, I agree that it might be a high pick next year.

I remember reading this one year ago today too.  Y'all keep forgetting we now have a coach and process that finally got the players to BILLIEVE.  I don't see that going anywhere. AND we removed our biggest hurdle in advancing in the playoffs

I fully expect that pick to be #32 next year.

I think the Bills end up picking at 2.  I predict that they first trade with Denver to get to 5.  Then the Giants feel comfortable dropping back to 5 and getting either Chubb or Barkley.  Allen goes #1 to Browns and the Bills take Darnold at #2, IMO.

Probably not necessary to get to 5 first.  Price  to get to 2 is dropping.  If NYG are not taking a QB, then they will be desperate to trade back and the Bills have the most to offer.

I hope so.  Of the guys they could take there, I think he will be the easiest to beat in the nfl.

Just Pin him in the pocket and play tight outside.

make him he a QB

I wouldn't wait too long to see if Denver is really interested in trading down.  They could try to freeze teams trying to trade into the top 5 by making them wait until they are on the clock. They could bait teams thinking they are trade partners. If they will not trade before the draft then don't count on them to move when the pick actually happens.

I have no idea, but I suspect Beane has already talked with just about every team in the league.  He sees himself as Ralphie's old man  at the Christmas tree store

Mayfield to Jets is a done deal

Personally think its Allen they want.

Darnold

Barkley

Mayfield

Chubb

Allen

Makes me sick to my stomach

I don't think Allen is the Jets first choice, Mac needs someone who doesn't need as long to start playing, by the time Allen can get in there Mac and toilet Bowles will be gone.

Still wouldn't be surprised if the Bills are in play for #2. A deal could've been worked out months/weeks ago.

Then why no trade yet? I don't think the Giants are trading out, they are hoping Darnold will be there, if not. Draft Barkley.

Agreed.  I wouldn’t trust Elway at all.  If Denver doesn’t agree to a trade before the draft starts,  do the deal with Indy at 6 and get up to 2 if Darnold is there.

It's a smoke screen, all this information linking the Jets to Mayfield, and barely anything about Rosen. Imo, Rosen is the Jets choice.

Probably waiting after the #1 pick is selected.

If the #1 pick is Allen, then all hell is going to break loose on here and Jets boards.

As coy as all the other GM's, nobody is playing their cards. And if people think that GM's are going to base their picks to stop another team from getting that player, then they need a reality check.

I dont see it.  Maybe im wrong.  I think the NY media has a pretty good grasp on what the Jets want and are going to do.  The Giants are the true wildcard of the draft.

Of course they are the wildcard, they don't "need" a QB. All the writers for every team is doing is trying for clicks, plain and simple. The NY media is scrambling like everyone else. They know about as much as you and I know.

I call BS. Beane will do what he thinks he has to to get his guy. No holds barred. Nothing is off the table(except Bills fans in September) till draft night.

All i have seen is the Jets wanting Mayfield or Rosen.  Either/or plays well into us trading up to 5 if Browns take Allen and Giants take Barkley to get Darnold.

No Darnold. He's the anti tyrod.I get it. Rosen is by far the superior talent. Can read, diagnose, and deliver any ball necessary to succeed in the NFL.  I don't won't 15+ ints. We need a cerebral assassin...enter the Rosen one!

Yup, we heard last year that it looked like a high pick, and it did. It was completely impossible to see how very easy our schedule would be, not to mention that even the good teams we played would be right in the middle of streaks of horrible play. We did indeed get very lucky last year. And it could happen again. The law of averages says it's pretty unlikely, though. And even our coaches have put out warning signals about how we might have problems next year.

I'd certainly love to be picking #32. I hope you're right. Wouldn't bet my rent on it, though. Or even $10.
