Ken Dorsey to the Bills?

Somewhere I read that Daboll was this kind of QB coach with the Jets back in the day.  He was brilliant with X's and O's and film study but brought nothing to the table regarding mechanics.

Though you'd expect Dorsey - an ex QB - to have a good knowledge of mechanics and be able to teach it.

This is exactly the difference between an OC and a QB coach.

I know hot.  I lived in Atlanta for awhile and played baseball all the way through college.

The hottest place I've ever played was University of South Alabama or FAU in Boca Raton.

I've been to Columbia several times because a plant I supported (I'm in HR) was in Columbia.

I also lived in Phoenix for a year.  Different heat but still hot.

Extreme temps just never really bothered me.  I've lived in extreme cold in Minnesota and extreme hot in the south and southwest....I just get used to it.  I'm an outdoors guy and weather never keeps me inside unless it's a natural disaster.

Closest I’ve come to living in the cold was Boulder, Co. that wasn’t too bad. Most of my work is done outdoors and I am fine with the heat.  However after pushing a lawnmower all summer long in 1994 in Columbia I decided to take my education a little more seriously.

I'd say at least twice a week, we fall asleep on the couch.  It's a big sectional.

I love the couch so I'll stay there in the morning, she will usually wake up at some point and walk to bed.

Do you think Ken Dorsey has a sectional?

Significantly different? I don’t know. I do know that he was the league MVP under Dorsey though. It’s a bit of an unfair question. We have no idea how much or little any coach impacts a particular player. All that we have to judge on are the results. Cam won a league MVP and has been a pretty good QB without top end weapons around him. That’s a positive for Dorsey IMO.

It's a fair question.  Cam came out of college ready to be the guy he is now.  This is what he was in college.  It's fair to ask how/if he has been really that significantly modified since he got out.  No one is calling Tom Moore a great OC for the work he did with Manning...

It would be more obvious if he (or any QB coach) took a marginal starter and made him a solid Sunday winner.

At the same time no one says, “well what did Tom Moore do?” That’s kind of the point. Dorsey coached a QB that is pretty good. If Newton would have gotten worse Dorsey would have been blamed but as the MVP the coach deserves no credit? I’m not saying that he has been phenomenal but I wouldn’t say that he has been bad either. Just because Newton or Manning or Luck or whomever didn’t take big steps as pros doesn’t mean that their coaches failed. It just means that they were closer to the end product (hence they were all number 1 overall picks).

Yeah. It's pretty freaking brutal from Mid-June through the end of August. I went to the Bills game here in week two. Good god it was awful.

I would 10000x prefer cold to heat. You can layer in cold, you can't remove your skin in the heat. That said, I live in a place that is spring all year, so I haven't had to deal with either in a while.

Hmmmm, he worked with Joe Webb and Cam Newton. I wonder....

Sure--credit him for putting the cherry on a sundae.  He put the hood badge on the Veyron when it first rolled out of the factory.

He won't be working with a Cam Newton in Buffalo, so wouldn't you want a guy whose impact wasn't so difficult to discern?

I went to Kure beach last year. I LOVED it. Wilmington was awesome too. Weather was perfect (late July/early August). Not too hot, no rain.

If in Wilmington, gotta hit the Dock Street Oyster Bar for great seafood!!!

I want a guy that is a good coach regardless of his experience. His resume certainly isn’t a bad one. Maybe he’s not Doug Pederson but he hasn’t failed at the job either.

He would have had to actively corrupted the basic way Newton plays football to "fail" with THAT QB in Carolina.

I just don't think you pick a guy who gets helicoptered to the summit of Everest to be your Sherpa....

People act like Buffalo is Siberia...give me a damn break. You want cold? Go to the upper Midwest...go to Watertown,NY...places where is routinely gets 30, 40 below zero(without the wind chill)...places you have to plug in your engines so the block doesnt crack...places that are so cold your fingers literally hurt when you try and grab something.

Sorry...average highs of 31 and lows of 18 just are not that cold...do we have cold days? Maybe a week or week and a half? Yeah but we also get thaw outs too...

Sorry covers it well.  I was in FL from Sept to mid Dec.  It was hot and it was humid pool and beach makes it very bearable, VERY.  Also looking at all the bikini's certainly does help too......what does an upstate girl wear for 7 months a year?  Clothes lots and lots of clothes so she can stay warm!  I am not saying Buffalo is Siberia - no quite far from it.  But - it is damn azz cold, there is no going out and sitting on your porch at night, I have lived in Rochester for just over 30 years now.....I am glad that my newest address is in FL for some of the time.....I am looking to make it all of the time.  But please don't tell me we only have a week to a week and a half of cold.....this winter, last winter and the 28 other winters I have been here are freaking cold.  30 below cold?  Nope, but cold nonetheless.  You like it?  More power to ya - not my cup of tea anymore.

GO BILLS!

I like Dorsey at QB coach, especially with what he did with Cam Newton.

Does that mean we are going after a Lamar Jackson or Teddy Bridgewater?

Bridgewater's completion percentage is around 65.  I'm cool with that. Jackson is around 56. Not cool with that.

Kyle Williams is raising his 5 kids in Buffalo.  He doesn’t move them away when the season is over.  I’m sure there are several others that stay now and in the past.

IIRC, he and his family head back to Louisiana when the football season ends.

I live in New Orleans and most of the Saints don’t live here in the offseason. It’s like that in most sports. These guys have a few months a year (more in football) off and they go back where their family is. We are all from somewhere where we have parents, siblings, cousins, friends, etc... I went home each summer in college. It’s not terribly different.

Have you been to Indochine restaurant? It's a mix of Vietnamese - Thai cuisine....honestly, some of the best damn food I've ever had. And, it's got a great vibe.

Wilmington area has a phenomenal presence to it as a region...it has some college atmosphere, historical culture, and invigorated development. My parents live in Leland, about 10 minutes from Wilmington, and they've built about 10,000 new homes, miles and miles of hundreds of acres of commercial development across the road from him (road being 4 lane highway)....in 17 years.

I'm just south in Monkey Junction.

Well when you say 10,000 homes it has to be either Brunswick Forest or Compass Point.

I've been down here about 10 years now, quite a few Bill's fans around actually, part of it due to many people from WNY who transferred down here with Corning.  Even in my little development, there's at least 3 Bills fans that I know of and none of them work for Corning either.

Tough to get any kind of decent wings down here though, but there is a good place for Beef on Weck.

It’s a nice short cut from 485 to Polkton/74 If headed to the beach.

Yup, Brunswick Forest is about a quarter mile up the road on the left from my parents. Plus all that commercial area and they added about 1,000 - 2,000 homes in Magnolia which is the development where my parents live...so about 8,000 in Brunswick at last count I knew, plus their own development in the first couple years they started living there, in 2002.

EDIT: I want to correct my numbers: when my parents arrived most of the development was already there, but they were adding multi-units, town homes, to the tune of a couple hundred with each housing (2), so the total added was more like 500 "homes" but about 200-250 actual structures, which makes more sense now that I think about it because the size of the sprawling landscape and its inhabitants when they arrived. Sorry about the confusion....that also means the added homes has to be closer to 6,000 - 7,000 when you included Brunswick Forest, but still that's a lot of fricken "homes" and development in 16 years......woof!

Jackson's receivers had a drop rate if 12%.  Chris Trapasso's Twitter page had the source of that statistic.

It was called Mayfaire Town Centre. It was off a main road but can’t remember the name.

Yup, that's the one! And I was mistaken, it's called Military Cutoff Rd....great place to shop. That place is like a casino: walk in with a pocket of cash, walk out wondering if you can mortgage the house....I think, and I might be mistaken, but they have little mini- concerts near the movie theater sometimes. Wilmington overall is just a cool vibe....

Have you ever been to the Oceanic? Food is "okay", but again just really chill place....on weekend nights, they have a band play on the pier with white lights along with the pier and serve dinner outside on the pier...or you can sit in their restaurant looking out over the Atlantic. I know a lot of places have these things, but from Central New York to Wilmington, it's a nice atmosphere and great change in scenery.

I lived in Clearwater, FL when i was a kid for a few years in the early '80s.....that's a whole other story. Anyways, small world....

If Joe Webb and Taylor are still on this team next year I will be amazed. It would almost look like instead of just quitting and pulling a Marrone that McD is trying to lose on purpose to get fired.
