T-Bomb
So the intro to tonight's game, the rookie RB is telling us how even before the play what he was thinking about most was his TD celebration, and that he didn't want to screw it up. Yeah, that's what he should have been concentrating on... GIVE ME A BREAK! And yes, I know this was an anti-bullying fluff piece, but this is why the game is ****. The whole premise is ****. It won't last, because it will have to escalate to remain interesting to the numbskulls that look forward to it, and that will backfire. Im with you that is a HUGE part of why i haven't watched one & a quarter games this year !! Every year it gets more & more about WATCH ME LOOK AT ME !! This new crap they are doing makes TO look lame ! His was spontaneous at times i think these players today spend a lot more time thinking about how to celebrate than on the actual game plan ... I wish they would change the rule back to the way it was it is making the game worse !!
LabattBlue
I said it before the season started, and I still believe this will blow up in their face. Some hot head on the other team will get offended by a celebration, and decide to insert himself into said celebration....leading to pushing/shoving/punches/personal fouls/players being ejected. Then next season, they will go back to "no multi-player celebrations". I didn't even realize this was allowed, but during last nights game, after a sack, there was a multi-player pose/celebration. C.Biscuit97
It's amazing how worked up people get about watching other men play a game. I think most of them are pretty funny, especially if they aren't taunting their opponent. I always thought the rule should be that if the celebration is dumb, you get a 15 yard penalty. It's amazing to me that people offer their opinion and because you don't like it it means people are worked up. i think this stuff is crap, primarily due to my age and how I was taught during my youth. I'd fall into the old guy category, and spontaneous celebrations in the moment never bothered me. Signature touchdown moves never bothered me. I even liked some of the obviously scripted celebrations that were creative. My problem with it now is that when you need the lead choreographer from Hamilton to script it all out, and a brief intermission while other players on the team get into position while props are arranged, I think they look kinda silly. When you factor in that some of these occur on losing teams...blech. I don't know why some of those guys just don't join a synchronized swimming team.
