Let's get ready... 2017 BOLD predictions

Recommended Posts

Meh, I can make up random stuff, so...

NFL:

Kaepernick gets his shot, signed by Seattle after Wilson goes down for the season. Kaepernick is a back up for two games, then gets three starts beginning in late November. The team is in disarray at 3-7. Kaepernick loses three straight while throwing ground balls and a couple of pick sixes. He announces his retirement after the season.

Marrone gets Jacksonville off to a 5-3 start, followed by a 2-6 second half.

Bills:

The return of the long ball. Taylor throws 12 td passes of 50+ yards.

The Bills offense and defense both rank in the top half of the league. The special teams rank in the bottom five.

The website Deadspin is shut down when it shows footage of a Bills tailgate involving a human sacrifice ritual intended to end the drought. The official investigation finds that the "person" being thrown into the mock volcano was actually a latex sex doll. Bills fans blame another year of missed playoffs on the fact that the latex doll was not a virgin.

The Virgin must be slain by the dildo from last season.

Bold Prediction: Zay Jones has a breakout season. Becomes the Bills #1 WR. Bills let Sammy walk at the end of the season due to the injury bug factor and draft another WR in rounds 2-3.

Deshaun Watson will be this year's Dak Prescott. He will outplay every other QB on that team in the preseason and be solid even as a rookie. He may not get all of the accolades that Dak garnered last year, but he will become that type of QB for the Texans.

Im lookin forward to that.

NFL:

- Bengals win AFC North

- Saints win NFC South

- Lions win NFC North

- Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard both put up as good or better stats than OBJ

- Ben Roethlisberger plays his last season

- Packers fire Mike McCarthy

Bills:

- Taylor throws for 3,400 yards, 25 TDs, and 12 INTs (and we take a QB in the 1st)

- Tolbert is a decent HB2/goal line back

- Jones looks like a more complete WR than Watkins

- Dareus finally shows up like a No. 3 overall pick

- pass coverage leaves a lot to be desired

- 3 different players have TD returns

more complete as in his body is intact.

Another one, Jordan Howard will lead the NFL in rushing. He had 1,300+ last season on only 252 rushes. If he gets around 300-350 this year then he will be up around 1,700-1,800 yards on the ground.

That totally discounts what RG3 was before he wrecked his knee, I'm not sure if it ever healed back to 100 percent or if it was just a mental thing but he was never the same player after that.

Agreed. Putting the "do running QBs have longevity?" debate aside, RG3's rookie year was far more impressive than Dak's.

1. Zay flashes ability to subplant Sammy as #1, beats him in catches but not yards as a rookie

2. Sammy gets all Keyshawn/diva on twitter because it's messing with his money 💰

3. Tyrod is voted to his third consecutive probowl

4. Defense is top 10 overall, but getting stronger towards the end

5. Bills lose a wild card game but break the drought

League wide:

1. Raiders dominate, dethrone pats as AFC champs

2. Packers represent NFC in Super Bowl after new TE talent and defensive back end rebuild make them awesome

3. Cousins will be benched for sucky play

4. AP and lynch with be in contention for rushing title

5. Jared Geoff will reach total bust status

The Bills win the AFC East.

That's not bold, it's crazy!

League: Jags make the Playoffs, Chiefs have worst record in the NFL, two 2k rushers, one of them our very own Shady, the other, Marrone, coach of the year. ;)

Bills: Shady has 2600 all purpose yards, 2K rushing, 16 TD's, Bills D-line all have double digits sacks, White is in the running for DROY, Darby makes Pro bowl, Taylor throws for 4k passing and 600 yrds rushing, and finally Bills make the playoffs win the AFCE. :)

There, you heard it here first.

Some of it bold, but Shady with 2600 all purpose yards not that much of a stretch. David Johnson has done that twice the last few years I think. Plus, Shady has already eluded to the fact that he will be more involved in the passing attach under this new offense, so? Jags making the playoffs? The talent is there, and we all know DM can coach, and loves to pound the ground which will help Bortles a lot, and that rookie RB is going to have an awesome year, IMO under a DM system. Ok, Chiefs being last in the NFL? Probably not, but I don't want to jinx anything.. :) I think the other RB's that has 2k potential are Elliot, Johnson, and Fournette, by virtue of their offensive philosophies, and talent on O-Line.

HMMM. I would be thrilled beyond belief but 2600 yards seems out of reach (yes, it is bold). 2000 yards, OK.

Bills

  1. We struggle with receiver depth.
  2. Marcell Dareus does not get arrested.
  3. Tyrod Taylor discovers the tight end position.
  4. Tyrod Taylor discovers the middle of the field.
  5. Our linebacker corps, regarded as one of the worse by many outsiders, actually shines.
  6. Shady McCoy finally gets over Chip Kelly, does not use any racially-charged verbiage without backing it up, and invites him to a strippers-only party.

NFL

  1. The Chiefs crash and burn.
  2. The Saints become relevant again.
  3. Dak Prescot takes a second year slump.
  4. Richard Sherman says something really, really stupid.
  5. The Patriots come back from 18 to beat the Raiders in the AFC championship.
  6. The Jets become so desperate at QB that they consider Johnny Football and Colin K but actually sign Jay Cutler out of retirement.

Bonus

  1. Karlos Williams takes full advantage of his year-long NFL hiatus and smokes more weed than Snoop Dogg and Willy Nelson, combined.

Oh what the hell, may as well take my shot at it...

NFL
1) Texans get the #2 seed in the AFC

2) Vikings win NFC North,

3) Saints win NFC South despite their defense

4) Drew Brees wins league MVP and retires after the season

Bills

1) Defense returns to top 5 and finishes #1 in the league in sacks

2) Charles Clay has a Pro Bowl season
3) TreDavious White is Defensive rookie of the year finishing #2 in the league in interceptions, and 3 of them will go for a pick-6

4) Bills lose to Pats on a last minute Brady led drive to finish 9-7 and still miss out on a wild card spot

1: Buffalo will finish with a 7-9 record with a couple of very narrow loses.

2: The defense will be very stout against the run but will struggle a bit against the pass ending up with a over rank of around 12

3: Tyrod Taylor will be solid for the first part of the season before getting an injury around week 5 or 6. Jones will take over but will be ineffective much like EJ. Peterman will take the reigns and be very, very solid, but will turn the job back to Tyrod before the year is out ( around week 13 ). Tyrod will finish strong setting up a huge debate in the offseason of who to go with... Peterman or Taylor. Jones will be cut.

4. The team will be extremely disciplined and one of the least penalized teams in the league.

5. Shady will win the rushing title this year

6. Sammy will be really turn it up when Peterman takes over ( after starting very slowly ) but will continue being solid, but not as spectacular once Taylor takes back over. This will set up another massive decision in the offseason.

7. Reggie Ragland will become a defensive monster and Shaq Lawson wont be far behind him. Both will become huge for the Bills.

Other

DeShaun Watson carries Houston to the brink of the Super Bowl.

Hows that?

Jones won't survive training camp. Peterman has to get past T.J. Yates. Other than that, not bad at all

Did someone say Cardale Jones? I have a better shot at playing this year than Cardale Jones. He wouldn't even be the starting QB at Ohio State and you think he would be a starting QB in the NFL? Yikes

Buffalo Bills: LeSean McCoy leads the NFL in rushing.

For whatever reason, not too many folks realize how effective McCoy was last season. Despite missing almost two full games, the uber confident tailback backed up his football bravado with 1,267 yards, 14 total touchdowns and a sterling 5.41 yards per carry, which was third in the NFL. He also caught 50 balls. Funny, nobody ever thinks of McCoy as much of a receiver. McCoy seems to fly under the radar amid the widespread fascination with David Johnson, Ezekiel Elliott and Le'Veon Bell, but he should absolutely be mentioned in their company among the league's elite. The Bills led the NFL in rushing last year. Tyrod Taylor's running ability demands opposing defenses to play 11-on-11. The run-first philosophy in Buffalo shouldn't change much under new Sean McDermott. Thus, fans might tap the brakes before anointing DJ, Zeke, and Lev Bell the rushing champs.

6. Jason Whiten retires

7. Brandin Cooks has less catches and yards than 2016
