McDermott has a defense problem, and his philosophy of having guys that have less ability and skill but fit what he wants from a mental and attitude standpoint isn't working. Go and get a guy that has an edge and that makes plays instead of slow guys that can't 1 1 1 Quote
frostbitmic Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Not exactly a process guy, quite the opposite from what I've read, don't walk away from him, run. Quote
HappyDays Posted September 23 Posted September 23 (edited) People say he's a locker room problem and that's probably true, but if the Eagles sign him nobody will bat an eye. He was PFF's 13th ranked safety in 2024 so it's not like he is washed. I would like to have a player with that kind of edge on defense. A psycho that makes the opponent hear footsteps, and he would be a great chess piece for our team if not a full time starter. But realistically there's no chance we will add a player like that. 18 minutes ago, Coach Tuesday said: He is an all-time jerk. Yeah but if you approach it right this becomes a positive. I think every Super Bowl team has a couple jerks that you hate to root for. Anyways it's a moot point. The Bills will not be the team making that call. Edited September 23 by HappyDays 2 1 Quote

Sweats Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Looks like the guy may still have a little life left in him........McD will never go for it. Quote

The Bills will not be the team making that call. I mean Hyde and Poyer weren't washed until they were and they both fell off a cliff fast. Just because he was a good safety a year ago doesn't mean he's still got it. If a team like the Eagles was like "nah we're good" I think that's enough for me to also think the same. Quote
SoTier Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Is Gardner-Johnson the problem or is he the canary in the mine? The Texans are 0-3 because they've sucked on offense, scoring only 4 TDs in 3 games. 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Contract information I could find says his salary this season is 7.75 million with a workout bonus of a quarter million. If the Bills could get him for that, it would probably be worth it, but if he clears waivers he'll probably want a bigger deal. It sounds like he'd prefer to sign with a team that plays a more aggressive style of defense than the Bills though. Quote

Lionel Hutz Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Belichick had a history of bringing in troublemakers that had worn out their welcome with other teams. You need these types of players to win a championship. If McDermott can't handle guys with egos he isn't a championship caliber coach 1 1 Quote

He’s worth the risk with our locker room and if he doesn’t buy in see ya Quote
Bruffalo Posted September 23 Posted September 23 He's the kind of player I hope the Bills would at least kick the tires on. Getting him in the building for a workout/sitdown seems like a no brainer. 1 Quote
