dave mcbride Posted August 19 Posted August 19 No, Diggs has never performed at big moments in elimination playoff games. Christ, people. Quote
wjag Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I would put him in a notch below ELITE. I watch Jefferson and Chase and they never take themselves out of the game. Diggs did that a lot. But he was "DAMN GOOD". Quote
Mat68 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 He was very good. For a few years around the 4-5th best WR in football with Allen. That offense was hell on wheels. He was a monster. As a fan I cant be mad at how he ended. Seems like the point was how are we going to win it all by doing the same thing. Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I’m going to say (all things considered) Diggs is the best WR the bills ever had. Reed played longer. Reed also played on a team surrounded by HOFers for much better coaching. Put Diggs on the 90s Bills and Im pretty sure the numbers are astounding. It ended bad with Diggs so it’s going to be unpopular. He’s the best WR we ever had. How good was he? That good. Better then all the other Bills 1 1 Quote

shane nelson Posted August 19 Posted August 19 He was very good, but 17 makes WRs better. Towards the end instead of being a leader, he sulked like a little baby without a rattle. Glad he is gone Quote
thenorthremembers Posted August 19 Posted August 19 He was very good for us. That said, he should have been off the team the second he pulled that nonsense during the Bengals playoff game. Despite the desperate attempt by some of the people on the board to make him out to be "a team first fierce competitor" Diggs was 100% about Diggs. The guy is high on talent and low on emotional maturity. 1 Quote
JP51 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 This may be unpopular, because quite honestly, I am glad to be rid of his drama, as well as I believe that his leaving was addition by subtraction.. whole greater than the sum of its parts... but... if you are asking me how good is he now... I would guess after he completely heals from his ACL he would probably still be a No1 receiver in this room... not a top 10 guy in the league, but a top 25 guy maybe... good not excellent... this is nothing on Shakir, maybe he would get more yards, I dont know... But I am not sure he is a feature guy... top 30 in receptions and top 40 in yards... I feel like diggs would slot top 25 receptions and 30 in yards... BUT, for that kind of money, why would you do that? Plus the injury recovery, when is he really right... week 10 ... playoffs? And we know what we get from him recently in the playoffs... If you are asking me how good was he when he was with us... top 10... a serious weapon, but not a total domination reciever like St Ra, Jefferson, etc... 1 Quote
ChronicAndKnuckles Posted August 19 Posted August 19 1 hour ago, BillsFanForever19 said: I love Eric Moulds. But there's no question on who the more impactful WR was. In Eric Moulds 10 years in Buffalo, he put up 9096 yards and 52 TD's - for an average of 909.6 yards and 5.2 TD's a year. In Stefon Diggs 4 years in Buffalo, he put up 5372 yards and 37 TD"s - for an average of 1343 yards and 9.25 TD's a year. Moulds was great. Diggs was on a different level. Unfortunately, Moulds didn’t have a QB in the same stratosphere as Allen. I am 1000% positive he would’ve been a HOFer if he did. It’s just my preference for WRs. Always liked the big body TO, Moulds, Anquan Boldin types. I am not a fan of Diggs disappearing in the playoffs and his attitude. Hes not likable at all. And talent-wise, I don’t think he’s quite as good as Moulds either. Statistically, they are almost even. Diggs only having 500 or so more total receiving yards so that’s not really an argument. 2 1 Quote

But I'd like to add one caveat......Allen is still great without Diggs, I don't think Diggs will be great without Allen. Good, just not great. Quote
Matt_In_NH Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Well Allen does not make many other players elite. People always assume when they sign a guy like Samuel, "oh wait til you see the production now that Allen is the QB". Allen is elite, Diggs is elite. The reality is a WR needs a QB to reveal his true skills. I know he is a Patriot now but Allen does not get all the credit for what Diggs did here, it was amazing. Quote

Cray51 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Diggs was - for a 3 year stretch - a top 5 WR in football. Jefferson and Chase are all world - they are this generation's Moss/TO WRs Diggs is closer to a Torry Holt. A guy who could be a #1 WR on a title winning team, who was pro bowl caliber for a number of years, and was a first team all pro once (both Diggs and Holt made one AP first and one AP second). That's DAMN good. I'd consider it Elite, he just didnt have Elite longevity. Quote
T master Posted August 19 Posted August 19 11 hours ago, RoscoeParrish said: Elite part of the reason Allen became elite worth every second of his time here until the end But Allen got even better and Diggs not so much . Sure Diggs did help elevate Josh to another level but I'd say Josh helped Diggs a bit more than the other way around because Josh had his best year after he was gone . I just wonder deep down inside if Diggs wishes he was still here and playing with this team or if it is just about the money for him ?? Quote
Rocky Landing Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Certainly, his numbers benefitted from Josh Allen's arm, and talent, and absolutely from the relationship, and chemistry they had developed in the first few years he was in Buffalo. But regardless, Diggs was elite, inarguably. Route running, separation, hands, footwork, YAC, extending plays, a legendary clutch mindset-- he had it all. But the bigger question is: would you let him date your sister? Quote
extrahammer Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Diggs was a great route runner with great hands, but lacked the speed that Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Jamar Chase, DK Metcalf, or Xavier Worthy all have, which typically becomes more of a differentiator in the playoffs. Quote
Big Turk Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Don't clown yourself with stuff like this trying to write revisionist history. Quote

Easily the best WR in Bills history over his 4 year stretch. His worst season here was better than 14 of Andre Reed's 16 seasons. Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Diggs was for 4 regular seasons a pro bowl caliber wr. His regular season stats reflect this. But his 9 playoff games with Buffalo were terrible. His success and catch % plummet in the playoffs. He wasn't clutch when we needed him most. Quote
ganesh Posted August 19 Posted August 19 13 hours ago, Ethan in Cleveland said: Wow I didnt know Diggs played defense too? Who was he covering with 13 seconds left to play? This is an insnae take. Please check his stats in the playoffs...He did not have a single dominating game and disappeared during many parts of the game...May be if he was able to raise his game, we win all those games without 13 seconds mattering!
