Buffalo_Stampede
I think Miami wanted Brandon Staley but now with the Rams DC job open I wonder if he goes there?

And I did NOT expect to be saying that. I don't like any of the other fits of Head Coach and Franchise. Mayo is a plug, nothing impressive about his press conference whatsoever, maybe he ends up being a good coach, we’ll see how it plays out. It all hinges on who they hire as a GM... to hire the head coach before the GM is a calculated gamble... if the Cheatriots continue to engage in hiring the people within a small circle they will continue to fail.

It is not a ringing endorsment of Mayo. But I think all the other hires feel like bad mesh of person, team and situation.

His son Steve still isn’t confirmed on Mayo’s staff. Curious if Bill is trying to get some language in his contract around Steve being the heir apparent. Process
Wow. So if Johnson goes to Washington and Quinn to Seattle, BB and Vrabel won't have jobs.... Slowik another one that's still out there too.

Mr. WEO
Blank fired him in 2020 after going 4-7 as interim HC. He's a terrible HC. lol.....Falcons
davefan66
Interesting choice. Surprised it want one of the hot young candidates or “proven” vet HC’s. Just another retread. Vrabel should get a shot. Good coach that meshes with players. I kinda get the feeling he lost a power struggle on Tenn.

Chargers did well and the pierce hire made sense for the raiders. otherwise, must have not been much to choose from for these franchises? Idk, over half of these hires seem sus I’ll take shiny object evaluations for $500 Alex.

Ethan in Cleveland
Good for Falcons to give a black man a second chance! That said this is such a curios hire for a team that has offensive skill positions ready to blossom. Will be interesting to see what they do for OC and if they draft another QB
H2o
I honestly think Morris may be better this time around due to the time he spent with McVay. The key to his success or failure will be the staff he puts together on the offensive side of the ball. Don't be surprised if he poaches a couple guys from LA. Im not a huge Jim Harbaugh fan but I think that he’ll make a success out of that franchise for a few years, drop to mediocrity and then move on. Now granted he had an outstanding defense but there was success offensively with both Alex Smith & Kaepernick. Kaepernick was a better runner than Herbert but I think he’s no slouch there… Definitely a better passer. Who knows if it was just Roman’s system or the combination of that and Harbaugh that made Kaep’ a success but the wheels certainly came off his career when Greg and Jim left SF. Do you feel he’s going to be a success in LA or is it the wrong choice?
Mikie2times
Who would ever consider hiring a defensive coordinator with with moderate success to be a HC in todays NFL?

SCBills
Falcons fans seem to be taking this well… My favorites are the ones saying they need Governor Kemp to get involved and ban the Falcons GM from the state of Georgia. Chicken Boo
Morris has earned another shot. He obviously interviews well. Super Bowl winning experience for a young team doesn't hurt either. Edited January 26 by Chicken Boo
