I think Beane has gotten gun shy with 4 crap years of drafting. And so so results with our free agent acquisitions. I think the Hamlin situation and the wupping put on us by the Bengals knocked the organization off its axis a bit. In general I’m good with having a player like that on the roster, but as more of a role player. Someone to shore up the run game when we are seeing a lot of it due to the opponent’s style, poor weather or when we’re down late and our opponent is trying to close out the game. Roster space has to be considered though. The Bills typically keep 5 DTs on the roster and currently have the following eight under contract for this season: Jones, Phillips, Oliver, Settle, Ankou, Vickers, Bryant and Broughton. I cant speak to the line play you're referencing, I'm interested too... but I know if we're in 4-3 a bit more it's easier to generate that pressure with blitzing.
