BillsPride12
I was just lounging out channel surfing a little bit ago and came across the Seinfeld Series Finale on Comedy Central. I probably haven't seen those episodes in about 20 years even though I still like watching Seinfeld reruns. I remember at the time it being very polarizing where you either loved it or hated it. I always liked it and still felt that way after watching it again, I liked the way they brought everybody back. Not their best work ever but I never understood the hate some people had for the way they ended it. I've seen much worse from other shows over the years. Another Fan
It's been many years since I watched it. I guess I might be an outlier then as I would actually say no to yay or nay. Like I didn't think it was great but didn't think it was awful. it was alright But I wasn't the shows biggest fan. again ya know it was alright. lol
Gugny
It was very unspectacular.
Captain_Quint
I think that if you follow the clues leading up to the finale, it's kind of obvious that Tony gets shot in the head while at the diner with his family. 1

The Poojer
I liked it better than Ozark finale, and the Ozarks finale almost ruined my opinion of the entire series
Doc
Most finales have been terrible. But that's because IMHO most series start with material for a season, maybe two and then get picked-up to go further and have no idea how to end it properly. Seinfeld however was a show about nothing and could have gone any way they wanted, and failed. I saw that finale once and never wanted to see it again, whereas I've watched the other shows in the series numerous times.
The Jokeman
I liked they ended it with the same button conversation as the premier episode but the whole 2 part/court room relive old moments and them going to jail was meh. 1

Nextmanup
I can guarantee you I watched it live, with anxious anticipation. Now, I don't remember 5 second of it to be honest! I wouldn't mind watching it if it's out there for free somewhere.

I occasionally watch some episodes here and there but like I said in my original post I haven't seen the Finale in like 20 years before today. They were never episodes I would have gone out of my way to put on but just stumbled upon it today. Definitely not like other episodes where you would re-watch them over and over but I feel like it worked as a Finale if that makes any sense.

WhoTom
My wife and I were big fans of the show. We were both pretty "meh" on the finale, though. Best series finale ever: Newhart.

Miyagi-Do Karate
The Seinfeld last episode was always going to be too tough to really nail, just based on the nature of the show. I think it was a decent way to end the show, by bringing back some of the side characters throughout the years. 2
NoSaint
I’m not a fan of the “everything gets a bow on it” type of finales To end where it started conversationally was I think quite smart (button) the walk down memory lane was a little cheesy but better than a lot of finales once you accept the show for what it was.
TheCockSportif
For me, Seinfeld kinda lost its way after the season where George's fiancee dies after licking too many stamps (I found that episode to be darkly funny, like so many other of the episodes). By the time the series ended, I was glad. It kind of ran its course. "Curb Your Enthusiasm", if you haven't seen it, is "Seinfield" for the R-Rated crowd. The first 4 seasons, in particular, are fabulous.

Logic
I liked the finale. The crew from the “show about nothing”….gets arrested for doing nothing. We get to see see all the classic side characters again. The series ends with the same conversation in which it began. Even in the finale, they kept to their “no hugging, no learning” ethos. One thing I’ve always wanted to know; how did people WANT it to end? For all those who said it ended poorly, what ending would you have preferred? What could they have done that would have pleased everyone? It always seemed to me that people didn’t like the finale because it wasn’t a happy ending, but a happy ending would have been so un-Seinfeld. And what would that even MEAN in the context of these characters?

I was actually laughing so hard at one point in time that I cried. it was this scene where Larry keeps seeing his chiropractor’s nasty frayed underwear, and he tries to give him advice about wearing better underwear so he isn’t scaring his patients away. Ned Flanders
Like most sit-coms, Seinfeld peaked at season three and started the steep descent into obscurity. See also MASH, Modern Family, Happy Days, Cheers, etc. I think the only one that stayed great was Barney Miller. The cast changed a bit, but it always kept its edge. There were scores and scores of classic Seinfeld episodes that continued to impact pop culture well into the final season. Not only that, but the fact that Seinfeld is still so heavily syndicated on TV today, 33 years after its debut, speaks to just how popular it still is and how well it holds up. Some classic episodes that happened AFTER season 3 -- and there are many more, but I'll just list a few: The Bubble Boy The Contest (voted the best Seinfeld episode of all time) The Implant The Junior Mint The Puffy Shirt The Marine Biologist The Soup Nazi The Rye The Yada Yada The Serenity Now The Strike (Festivus episode) The show probably peaked somewhere between seasons 3 and 5. Once Larry David left after season 7, the show changed quite a bit, with Jerry Seinfeld taking more of an active role in creative. It became less mean/cynical and more absurdist/cartoonish. Still, despite the changes and passing its peak, it remained funny and highly culturally impactful right up until the end, as evidenced by the MASSIVE hype and interest around its finale. I, for one, saw the series finale in a packed movie theatre. I can never remember a show in my lifetime that still gets quoted as much almost a quarter century after it last aired as Seinfeld.

What is there to see underwater? The season long plot with Mocha Joe, Larry opening a spite store, Larry and Richard being put in "the ugly section" of the restaurant. I generally/mostly prefer the earlier seasons, but season 10 was a real high point for me. Just really funny from start to finish. At its highest moments, I like Curb as much as I liked Seinfeld. One show that COULD have stayed great forever was the Charlie Sheen-era Two and a Half Men. I thought it was the best sitcom since Seinfeld. Once Sheen left, directly into the crapper it went. I believe that in the same episode, as a side effect, someone who was accused or convicted of a crime (took place so long ago that I don't recall, and too lazy to look it up), had an alibi. The alibi is that they appeared in the stands of Dodger Stadium, during the filming of that episode of Curb, it was caught on camera, and all was forgiven.
