SinceThe70s
I took a page out of Wheel of Fortune and use stern every time. ouija is good to eliminate/identfy vowels but I think it's easier to try to identify the consonants first

nkreed
I begin with ARISE, and if that doesn't work I use a CHO** word. T's are rather easy to identify later on. It's not the best strategy, but my current streak is 53. I got lucky and didn't lose anything in the transfer to the NYT.

Whatya do when the Wordle is: NYMPH 😉😜 (Which it was a few days ago) Anyway... Don't know what the fuss is. According to rules, if you get it under 6, you win... Why do humans have to always ramp up the competition. This is PASS-FAIL. 😏 Edited March 30, 2022 by ExiledInIllinois

DD4Bills
For Wordle, I usually start with a word with at least 2 if not 3 vowels and 2 or 3 of the "usual suspect" consonants (S, T, R, N). Since becoming part of the NY Times, far too many "good luck guessing the final letter" kinds of words, like _OUND...you can burn through all of your remaining guesses cycling through BOUND, FOUND, ROUND, WOUND, POUND, etc. I use the same strategy for Dordle and sometimes Quordle. For Octordle and Sedecordle, I'll use the same strategy using my first two guesses to cover more ground. Latest addition to my morning repetoire? Nerdle...basically Wordle but math instead of words. Need to guess a simple equation using 0-9, +, -, *, /, and = Edited March 30, 2022 by DD4Bills
Wooderson
Quordle and Octordle are more my jam lately. On all three, I usually start with IRATE or ORATE. Depending on what I get, I'll try SOUND next.

I know that there are other sites like this, but I'm always up for the challenge. If I have a Day 0 design goal, it's to not publish the entire dictionary of words, unlike Wordle, in a JSON format -- that's viewable by everyone. No, you can't cheat by looking at the dictionary alone, but it's a huge glot of (data) payload, and it's painful to the eyes to look at. ExiledInIllinois
I used to go with picking the most vowels... But now go with a random word I think will nail it. Can get it usually 5 or less. Only had two times were I had 4 last letters and missed choosing the wrong first letter and with a slew of choices... Failing at +6. It's really doesn't matter. If you answer it under 6 you win. +6, you're a stinking lover. Everyone is the same winner < or = 6. Why not try for 1? What I wanna know is... I started playing game late... Is there a list of old winning Wordle words? Edited March 31, 2022 by ExiledInIllinois
