Doesn't work here:

I know, insane, right?

Audio is a word. I’ve even heard it said before.

Our 8 year old grandson spends most Sundays with us and he played this a lot. I’ve resisted him getting me hooked so far, barely helping. I’m embarrassed by my current level on Wordscapes and don’t need another obsession…..but you sucked me in! I just finished a couple games, and I have to decide between walking away or getting sucked in…..

You get vowels A E I and O plus consonants L N S T M and R.

Anyone have anything better that that?

I go random each day.  I look around and choose the first 5-letter object I see.  Sometimes it works well; sometimes not.

Do you play at work? Do you end up going all DC Tom and starting with I-D-I-O-T a lot?

Work is in my home office and my cat, Lazy, is usually the only one down here with me!

he is 7 years old and came up with the idea to google: “what is the best word in wordle?” and “adieu” popped up! The other best words that popped up were “about” and “sweet.”

Clever! Knock out most of your vowels. I just did Wordless for the first time after brushing off the grandson for the most part the last couple weekends. I’ll play along more going forward.

I begin with ARISE, and if that doesn't work I use a CHO** word. T's are rather easy to identify later on. It's not the best strategy, but my current streak is 53. I got lucky and didn't lose anything in the transfer to the NYT.

I know.  Not sure why audio isn't on that game's Wordle list.  Crazy!

My first two words, usually try to knock out AEIOU, assuming that my first guess is fruitless.

RAISE is a favorite starting word.

Whatya do when the Wordle is:

NYMPH

😉😜

(Which it was a few days ago)

Anyway... Don't know what the fuss is. According to rules, if you get it under 6, you win... Why do humans have to always ramp up the competition.   This is PASS-FAIL. 😏

Elementary, my dear EII.  Once you've eliminated all of the vowels, that means there's gotta by a 'Y'.  I solved CYNIC from a few weeks ago on try 3 (my second guess had an N in it).  🙂

Yeah... But have you ever nailed a Wordle on 2 tries?  I have a few in repertoire! 😉

I came close to nailing a hole-in-one on those occasions!

I can guarantee, You'll never get a hole-in-one covering a lot of vowels.

But... Anyway, "Everyone is a winner"  covering it under 6.

Now... Where's my "participation trophy" 🏆 And I'll be on my way!  😉😜

I've done it literally... once... on the first time I tried Wordle.  The word was CRIMP.

I average about 3.5, and yesterday I was skunked.  SHALL, ugh.

For Wordle, I usually start with a word with at least 2 if not 3 vowels and 2 or 3 of the "usual suspect" consonants (S, T, R, N). Since becoming part of the NY Times, far too many "good luck guessing the final letter" kinds of words, like _OUND...you can burn through all of your remaining guesses cycling through BOUND, FOUND, ROUND, WOUND, POUND, etc.

I use the same strategy for Dordle and sometimes Quordle.

For Octordle and Sedecordle, I'll use the same strategy using my first two guesses to cover more ground.

Latest addition to my morning repetoire? Nerdle...basically Wordle but math instead of words. Need to guess a simple equation using 0-9, +, -, *, /, and =

Quordle and Octordle are more my jam lately.  On all three, I usually start with IRATE or ORATE.  Depending on what I get, I'll try SOUND next.

I was thinking of doing another Wordle derivative, but for team play.  I know that there are other sites like this, but I'm always up for the challenge.  If I have a Day 0 design goal, it's to not publish the entire dictionary of words, unlike Wordle, in a JSON format -- that's viewable by everyone.  No, you can't cheat by looking at the dictionary alone, but it's a huge glot of (data) payload, and it's painful to the eyes to look at.

I've only been playing for about a month, and I've only not gotten it once....SLOSH, about a week ago.

I got today's in three(I won't say what it is...no spoilers!)But my two starting words really made it easy to get in three!

I tried for the first time today.  Got it on my last try.  After my second guess I had the whole thing except the fourth letter then had three unsuccessful guesses, all valid , then got it on the last one with the only viable letter left on the table.  Annoying.  I opened with Feast.

Ever try the math version, Nerdle?

Oops... Sorry, I didn't know Nerdle was a daily thing.  I gave away yesterday's answer early. My bad...

Just did today's Nerdle in: 5.

Today's Wordle also in 5.  But everyone is a winner under 6!  😉

Teams, Tears, Mates, Steam, Rates, Stare, Tares...

Basically I like S, T, R, M for consonants and A and E for vowels....

I used to go with picking the most vowels... But now go with a random word I think will nail it.

Can get it usually 5 or less. Only had two times were I had 4 last letters and missed choosing the wrong first letter and with a slew of choices... Failing at +6.

It's really doesn't matter. If you answer it under 6 you win. +6, you're a stinking lover.

Everyone is the same winner < or = 6.

Why not try for 1?

What I wanna know is... I started playing game late... Is there a list of old winning Wordle words?

Huh?

Process of elimination.  Sometimes it's even easier if you totally whiff on first word.  Next word 5 all new letters. Only 26 letters in alphabet.

Nevermind.  I read that wrong.  Yeah, I missed twice.
