WhoTom
We saw them twice in 2019 - both outstanding shows! They're doing the orchestra thing again, so I assume the same setlist, more or less: heavy on Tommy and Quadrophenia with a few other gems (and crowd-pleasers, like Baba O'Riley). They traveled with their normal touring band, plus a conductor, first cellist, and first violinist, but the rest of the orchestra was made of orchestral musicians from whatever city they were playing. They got the sheet music in advance, but only one rehearsal with the touring band a few hours before the show. As someone who appreciates classical music as well as rock, I was doubly amazed at the musicianship from both the orchestra and the rock band. They're not what they used to be, but they still put on a damn fine show.
coloradobillsfan
I'll be honest, I'm not excited about the orchestra thing. But FOMO will almost certainly lead me to buy a ticket for The Two anyway, as I am definitely a life long fan. I got to visit Beachy Head a few years ago, and Quadrophenia was on my mind the entire time I was there. So I'm guessing I will hit nostalgia overload during those songs. Along with Roger Waters, and Nick Mason whenever they reschedule their dates, this will comprise the geriatric part of my 2022 concert schedule
Wacka
Should play Highmark. Don't know what year (70s?). Roger Daltry Sings "Love reign o'er me" and it starts pouring. I remember reading that he said that was the only time that ever happened.

Keith is long gone and so is Entwistle...whose base playing is like 60% of the reason to listen to The Who. Honestly, I can't believe they are touring. Reminds me of some of the last Van Halen tours, cut short by Ed's drinking... Better leave them where they belong--in your memory.
muppy
I have seen this band twice back in the day. The first on Halloween 10/31/82...they were raw and fierce live it was legendary. I then saw them decades later with hubby, my son and his then gf in I think 2011 at the hollywood bowl. Both shows were incredible. I will never consider this band washed up to me that's just insulting. I know noone is begrudging them their due as an iconic band. I think if you haven't ever seen them and go you will likely enjoy it very much. I dont get to large venue rock shows much anymore in any case. the Who as a super bowl show BLARED from speakers at the Best super bowl party EVER at our home here so my memory of that event also differs greatly 🙂 m Edited February 8, 2022 by muppy

BringMetheHeadofLeonLett
Kinda torn on this one. I haven't seen them since the Quadrophenia redux tour... and it was fantastic, but I think I'll be let down if it's a rehash of the radio staples. I wish they'd shift into some of their lesser knowns and Pete's solo work- I think they could still put together a relevant show from that material. Saw Townshend solo in a small venue in '93- it was great, and so much less bloated than the gigantor production I fear. I'll probably catch this one, though... might be a last chance, and the teenage me still treasures the core of their existence. 1

Only time I saw The Who was 1982 at the Carrier Dome - in the topmost row - they billed it as their farewell tour, lol. Ironically the only other show I saw at the Carrier Dome was Rush a year or two later. And we were second row center. My view was better for Rush.

That’s because on that day, I boozed early and often. 😎 Congrats on 40 years with your husband, that’s awesome! My wife and I will be married 37 in September, though come to think of it, I met her a month before the show and we had just started spending time together when The Who came to town. I, like a number of others, mentioned that concert. I did some digging, thinking maybe it was some collective stupor shared by those of us who were there. I found the audio for the concert an you can hear Daltrey saying after the song, "I don't think even the Rolling Bones could do that" Or maybe it was Townsend, can't be sure..and it doesn't matter. While I was doing my internet digging, I found an interview with Kenny Jones. He was asked about which venue he'd like to play again. He said Buffalo and recounted the story. Then he said something like, you can't write a better script than that.

Vetriano
saw a lot of people were excited The Who would tour again. Saw them at Giants stadium- think it was 1989 or 1990 was a great show. But after the child porn arrest- can’t listen to him anymore. Do you really believe him? Also, comes across as so incredibly arrogant. if pete really doesnt care about peoples opinions- why put himself in the public light so often? Obviously- doesn’t need the cash and could disappear. Really just interested to know why people still like this guy. Not trolling- just interested in peoples rationale. Thanks.
WhoTom
https://ultimateclassicrock.com/pete-townshend-cleared-child-porn-charges/ Quote Following a four-month investigation, Who guitarist Pete Townshend was cleared of charges related to child pornography on May 7, 2003, after examination of his computers equipment proved there had been no downloaded images of child porn. "The police have unconditionally accepted that these were my motives in looking at this site and that there was no other nefarious purpose," said Townshend in an official press statement. "I accept that I was wrong to access this site and that by doing so, I broke the law." He addressed the topic further in his 2012 autobiography, 'Who I Am.' "I was trying to prove that credit card companies were taking money for child porn websites," he told the Today Show in 2012. "I didn't enter a website, I didn't look at images. A couple of us were campaigning and we gave it up in the end because it seemed so futile." I believe him. He goes into much more detail about the incident in his autobiography, if you want to know more than a few sound bites. As for whether I "like" him - I don't know him personally. Based on his interviews, I don't think he's someone I'd want to sit and have a few beers with. That doesn't make him a bad person, just not someone I'd be comfortable conversing with. I find his music to be nothing short of brilliant. His lyrics are relatable to me (although I'm not as F'd up as the characters in his songs) and the music ranks right up there with the best classical compositions. I don't believe in reincarnation, but if I did, I'd think he was Beethoven in a previous life. Edited February 14, 2022 by WhoTom

Chef Jim
A guy that I worked with said they are no longer The Who...they are The Huh? Here's the real funny part of that story. He told me that joke 30 years ago!! LOL
Gugny
This band recently popped up in my facebook feed because they're coming to a venue in Albany, NY as part of their current tour. The Hu I figured they were some sort of Who tribute band, but nope. Mongolian heavy metal. The HU is a band from Mongolia that blends heavy metal and traditional Mongolian throat singing. The band’s name The HU, is the Mongolian root word for human being. They call their style “Hunnu Rock”…inspired by the Hunnu, an ancient Mongolian empire, known as The Huns in western culture. Some of the band’s lyrics include old Mongolian war cries and poetry. https://www.thehuofficial.com/about-
