  1. Men’s game takes too long. I don’t have 4 hours to watch a match. Best of 3 is more interesting. Major tournaments should change mens format - even djokavich (sp) agrees. Unless you sweep in 3 it’s like running a marathon every time you step on court- can dilute the quality of tennis being played. I pretty much only watch WTA
  2. I’ve had the ticket the last 3 years and enjoyed it- even at that cost. I prefer to be in my own home with a Clean bathroom & good food. But giving it up this year- not worth my time and $$. don’t like changes the nfl has done over the years- extra game regular season, Thursday night games, expanded playoffs. Do I watch - yes- but there’s other things I can as well
  3. Just saw Elton John. Great show. regina spektor at Carnegie hall in less than 2 weeks!!
  4. saw a lot of people were excited The Who would tour again. Saw them at Giants stadium- think it was 1989 or 1990 was a great show. But after the child porn arrest- can’t listen to him anymore. Do you really believe him? Also, comes across as so incredibly arrogant. if pete really doesnt care about peoples opinions- why put himself in the public light so often? Obviously- doesn’t need the cash and could disappear. Really just interested to know why people still like this guy. Not trolling- just interested in peoples rationale. Thanks.
  5. I've lived in NYC most of my life, a devout Bills fan since the late 80s. I look at two bills drive way too much, and find it interesting when people comment that certain players or coaches couldn't handle the "big city" media. I think there are much more distractions in the big markets, ie Yankees, mets, basketball, another football team( giants)', tennis, marathons or millions of people who could care less about the athletics surrounding them. My point is I think Buffalo, and smaller markets are much more intense, the local population seems much more invested emotionally in the product and the media is most likely consumed by a higher percentage of passionate fans. My question, which media is tougher buffalo or NY? I vote buffalo.
  6. Today, that guy was the man. Downright hysterical! Bills owned the top near the fifty! Does anyone have videos of that guy? Funny stuff, and yes it was safe for work! Video please!?
  7. It could be the hideous "shout" song. It must be put to rest
  8. I find the Budweiser commercial totally un-relatable. With the Bills always finding a way to lose rather than win, I don't find that a specific or random unrelated act will help this team. Also, prayers have failed this team (with the exception to the fortunate recovery of Kevin Everett- although I don't want to get off topic). So my question is, 1) do you have any game day superstitions that you believe must be done to help the Bills win? and 2) if your doing these things-- please stop! you are jinxing us!!
  9. I just started watching the hobbit 3 months ago. I think it is just about to end. Good timing. Those Peter Jackson flicks occur in real time.
  10. Pushed myself through the first two. Giving up. What happened to Portia di Rossi?mdoesnt matter. The brilliance of the first 3 seasons is that every minute was funny, and you didn't have to follow the story. Just brilliant writing. Season 4 is not the same.
  11. This American life has original stories. The premise is not that everyone has a story to say, but that you may have missed something, whether it's gangs in Chicago, relationship stories, it often gets me to laugh as well. Is generally broken into a few parts. Not always great, but 80 percent of the time. Motley fool money, is partly informative and partly commedy. Lots of stupid guy banter, pretty fun and you keep inforMed on the market at large. Frontline, this is the PBS show in audio. Maybe the best show on tv or podcast period. You will learn something Tedtalks, focuses on a topic and you get expert opinion, research on it. Could be about broad topics on education, beauty. More philosophical than the other shows.
  12. Listen a lot. Here's my favorites, This American life Ted talks Motley fool money Frontline Story corps
  13. Was reading an article on nfl.com where the commish mentioned trying to get more kids playing football. I know the nffl is patriotic and all, but I was on aware all ther research and 100s of millions were helping our military. " We’re investing hundreds of millions of dollars to try to find out answers to some of the difficult questions we don’t know about the brain,” he said. “They’ll help not only football, but they’ll help every other sport and, frankly, our military.” Thoughts?
  14. Thinking about going on a camping trip with my 9 year old daughter. Would like to show her niagra falls. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to space out the drive? Any suggestions on things we should see? I am thinking hopefully we could catch a drivein movie.
  15. Garden state is a great soundtrack. Queens logic also is very good. Amelie, although not sure this is the crowd.
  16. gangnam style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5MRyipRa4A
  17. Best shows-- "trailer park boys". Also, "peep show" is hysterical. For the family I recommend "the storyteller" it's by Jim Henson a 9 part series. Also like the "munsters" and "family ties"
  18. Dont know if it's because I'm older than almost every player in the league with the exception of an odd kicker. But after 12 years of garbage, spending too much cash, and seeing a greedier nfl product (ie Thursday night football). Gave up fantasy football this year, don't miss it at all. Tell the truth I barely miss sitting in a bar watching this team lose week after week. So my question is, are you watching more, less or about the same. I think it would be different if lived in buffalo, im just outside nyc
  19. I have done two cruises with my daughter and wife. The first when she was probably four, it was a new boat I think holland America eurodam. It was a cruise to no where left from NYC was at sea for three nights. Me and my daughter had a great time. She had asked from that time when we would go back This year when my dauhter was eight we did a Baltic sea cruise- we have to go to eyrope every year because we have family to visit- so the cruise left stockholm, helsinki, st Petersburg, Riga, gdansk. My daughter says it was her favorite vacation ever. Entertainment and food was great, a lot of international passengers, they had a kids club, climbing wall. We all definitely would do it again. We left the cruise in Poland, to visit family. This was the right age for a real cruise, glad we did not do this type of $ earlier. I wouldn't do any location -Disney, skiing or cruising greater than five days. But that's just our preference
  20. We went to the fish company last night. My family had a great time. They had a fire juggler there. Music was chill. They were feeding tarpon and other huge fish outside. To be honest, I'm not a fisherman, but that sportsman store was awesome, the aquarium really cool. Made me feel like I'm missing out on something good. I may have to learn that sport!!
  21. thanks for the suggestions, had no idea what gillooyed meant. had to look it up, interesting reference to Tanya Harding and the knee cap incident with the husband (nice).
  22. Hello, Down in the Keys- Islamorada, Cheeca Lodge with Wife and 8 year old Daughter. Wondering if anyone has any good suggestions? Restaurants, snorkelling, dolfins etc? Thanks, Paul Also, saw Dan Marino in Fort Lauderdale yesterday, he was friendly just said hello and how are you and kept walking on. Was with a lot of family.
  23. Those were awesome. Smittenmitten had me and the wife cracked up!
  24. I dont care for movies too much, unless it is good. And this was great! Really, the story, the sets, the acting. I thought it would be more of a kids story, I brought my 8 year old daughter, but it is just fantastic. Think Amelie, visually, with 3D that finally works. Sasha Cohen (BORAT) was good too. Wondering if anyone else saw it and there thoughts? Try to see it in the theatre if you can- wont regret it As a point of refernece, I hated the last two Woody Allen flicks, esp that "midnight in paris"
