I'd be happy if we spread it out, only used Knox and occasionally Croft, No SMITH. And, let Josh be himself,  give the ball to Singletary and aim for a 50/50 Run/Pass breakdown. We will run better and throw better if they do that. AND SCORE MORE POINTS.

We have spread it out to the point of total predictability. This offense needs balance and different looks. I still cannot figure out why DiMarco is still here!!!

for that inside trap when in the Shadow of the Goalposts. Because that 2 yard gain somehow makes it safer to pass then.

OK, having rewatched for the 2nd time....there is about 180 degree flip between Allen's demeanor and attitude in the postgame presser vs this.

In the postgame presser, it seemed as though he was frustrated and soul-searching about why he wasn't completing deep balls.  In this presser, he genuinely does not seem concerned about it, other than as a general "I want to complete every pass I throw".

One possible interpretation is that after reviewing the game film and especially the deep throws with his coaches, he feels he's got an answer and it's a manageable answer, whether it's in some specific area of his technique, or in a protection breakdown affecting his throw, or the routes the receivers run being different in gametime so as to throw off the timing and that needs work.

I guess we'll see!

i dont understand what "play fearless" means. Don't the coaches call the plays?

We’re going to put Lee Smith in and tell him not to worry about the false starts.

That’s just a guess........

The only dangerous--and by far best--aspect of Allen's game is when he takes off running  on ad lib, broken plays.

McDermott has obviously put a very short leash on him and taken that almost totally away from him b/c he knows that is not a sustainable approach to success and he is trying to prove that his guy can work as a pocket passer in the NFL.

The problem is that he can't, and is really best used as a runner playing an unconventional sort of game.

So let's see.  Maybe he will play "fearless" [sic] and things will improve.

I hope this unlocks some smart aggressive Offense, I hope Josh audibles out of silly play calls in short yardage situations, I have so many damn hopes...

Go Bills!!

Josh has the freedom to audible

1. against the browns Allen through it 50 yards in the air on  a third and three.  honestly seems fearless enough to me

2. my comment before refers to all 53 players not just Allen.  Who needs to play more fearless? Jerry HUghes? Mitch Morse ? Lee smith?

I think this is great! They've realized that he was bypassing open receivers because of the emphasis on avoiding interceptions. It's a constant back and forth with a young, raw QB.

Right.

20 games into his career?

Sounds like they're hoping he's absorbed enough instruction that some things can go on "auto pilot" now, and he can play looser. He needs to know how long the leash is.

Exactly right.  Playing for a 53 yard field goal after your team marches down the field is the opposite fearless.

Did Sean sit the coaches down and say the same thing? Did Sean realize he has to play to win?!
I soooo want to believe we will see a different team against Miami. It really is time to show they can oppose their will on a team like Miami. Last year the Bills blew out a couple teams starting this time of year. Be nice to see them do it again.

Define a "blow out"

Yesterday there was a thread about coaching philosophy similarities McD and Jauron share.  Well, it terms of public relations, McD far surpasses DJ as evidenced the HC's team message today  Of course this is going to come out via Chris Brown and not coincidentally it's timed precisely to address an issue highlighted on TBD.

Because the HC has been criticized for coaching not to lose and avoiding risks in high pressure situations.  DJ and/or Bills media would never do anything like this to blunt any team or HC criticism.

There were Bills fans EVERYWHERE thinking the same thing at the end of that game.........that the Bills have been playing not to lose.   And as we are painfully aware playing not to lose almost always ends in mediocrity.

The team record gradually diminishing might bring back some of the focus on building up Josh Allen.    This statement sounds like a reaction to the criticism and a re-focus on that critical development.

They could have had both offensive success AND improvement from Allen with a better supporting cast this season........... but they ultimately need to get the improvement of Allen part right if nothing else and JA has seemingly hit a wall with the "play not to lose" vibe during this stretch against struggling opponents.

the future depends on Allen of course.

so many fans here have asked for him to let it rip.
and last season we talked about short and intermediate routes and moving the chains.

this game should be fun.

might be too carzy

But if Josh starts throwing over the top all day? should be a riot of a game.
Go Bills !

the work Allen really needs is , to be prepared to get as many receivers in his progression as he can, and then toss it. High ,low, out of the backfield. lead a receiver on the crossing route and let him go get it

Trust his pocket. Take the sack in the pocket. not running out of it.
or throw it away.

he was able to toss the deep ball before.

my guess Daboll

so unfortunate b/c behind Lamar Jackson Josh is easily the best mobile QB in the league. Cam is finished and is 1 hit away from retirement.

we could at least use Allen like Kapernick and Jackson. but instead Daboll wants to stuff him in his mediocre offense and hide his talents

McConservative happened.

The change in his run game has been so obvious.

He is like a scared child, just frozen to the spot. Last year, it was run like crazy.

I believe Mc has coached this out of him. Just let him loose. Fly free
