Yeah, he has really wrecked that 6-10 beauty Reggie put together in 2017.

No chance the Giants would bring the fizzling Carr to replace the rotting carcass of Manning.

A team a year removed from a 12-4 record was it not?

Now let me look to see if we can fit the contract as is this year. I wouldnt want to adjust it.

Nope have to free 6M space to fit it.

So best way to Free that up would be to include Benjamin in the deal or another deal somewhere for him.

Or redo some existing contracts like Hughes

He was scared as a child by a man whose sunglasses were retained by an effeminate chain.

I saw him at the HOF, he looked like the crypt keeper and he lived another decade. Honestly I'm not convinced he's dead, I think he went Howard Hughes and is feeding on the souls of the living somewhere in a Vegas hotel suite. Biding his time.

Carr isn't turning any team around.  Dude peaked 2 years ago, got paid than check out last year's numbers.

63%, 3500 yds, 22 TD/13 INTS.

Yeah, so horrible.

The Raiders team is fine. It's all Derek Carr's fault.

It's pretty clear that Allen is nowhere close to ready, so I don't see there being much controversy until maybe year 3.

QBs are the biggest assets a team can own. You're in great shape if you have more than one good one.

And if Carr were 30ish I would I totally agree. But you don’t trade for Carr AND keep Allen. You use Allen however you can to gain assets. I’m not advocating one way or the other, just that if one then the other.

Bills should be all over this.

You want the Rogers Farve situation??

But they wont be thats the sad thing

I mean, they just spent a few draft picks and shipped out players so they could get Allen. I can't really see them going after a QB making $25,000,000 a year. If this had come up last year I'm sure they would have. There are multiple reasons they can't be in on this.

You're way overthinking this.

There's a legitimate franchise QB available. The type of guy the Bills can sit Allen behind for the 2-3 years he needs to develop. If he's ready to start then the Bills can move one of them for great value. Carr will still be young, too.

Bills fans should be clamoring for this to happen.

This is why we can't have nice things.

He would be under 20M a year in a trade. Brings credibility to the offense and the QB position.

Now instead of Allen being handed the job next year he has to earn it. And if you do it now and lets say Allen becomes legit next year you have a QB in Carr to flip for a higher pick.

The issue is fitting his remaining 16M cap hit under this years cap space

I would send a 2nd over to Oakland in a heartbeat for Carr.

His contract has a Annual Cap hit of under 20M once traded. This should be a no brainer for a team that doesnt have a QB

I'd give them a 1st and 2nd for Carr and Amari Cooper.  Reap the benefits of a fire sale when you can.

Carr has regressed somewhat into a checkdown guy and Cooper had the dropsies last season but you can't ignore the talent.  One other issue I read about Cooper is that, despite his size, he struggles vs tight coverage on the outside.  Solution is to put him in motion or in the slot.  They would greatly improve the Bills pass offense.

What? That's all done. They have all their picks next year and then some. They currently have the #3 defense. This is a match made in heaven.

So easy, it's hard.

An offer I think would get it done is.

Benjamin, 2018 2nd, 2019 Conditional 3rd that can Elevate to a 1st.

For Cooper and Carr

then would have to redo Hughes Contract to lower this years hit to fit them both. And maybe even do something with Shady’s number and Clays. Just to fit them under this years cap.

This trade puts playoffs this year back on the table (if they did it) and gives Josh the Aaron Rodgers Development timeline (perfect situation for him)

Really?  I wouldnt count on it. They did trade Macl for peanuts

That's because they knew they couldn't afford him----Mark Davis is the poorest owner in the NFL---he isn't a multi Millionaire like most of the other owners. part of the move to Los Vegas is a money grab.

There were a lot of rumors last year that the Raiders line was letting defenders get clean shots on Carr because the QB was outspoken in the locker room in both his support of Trump, and opposition to the kneeling.

It would make sense if his team mates no longer want to play with him--the situation may be beyond salvageable. If that's the case, it would make sense to trade him, even if he is a "great" quarterback. It may be easier to fix that position, than 10-20 other positions on the team that don't want to play with the guy anymore.

The question would be if Carr is able to win the respect of new teammates. If the answer is yes, you have your solution at QB for the foreseeable future.

WTF was the point in trading Khalil Mack if they aren’t going to keep Derek Carr?

I thought the Raiders felt that they could pay both Carr + Mack and still build a solid team.

This is not very good asset management by Gruden if they really do trade Carr...

His cap hit is only around $21-$22M in 2019 and beyond. I believe it would be even less to the team acquiring him because of the money the raiders already paid (like Dareus in Jacksonville).

Plua, the dead cap hit isn’t bad at all if you do eventually move on from him ($7.5M in 2019, $5M in 2020, $2.5M in 2021).

If I were running the Bills, I’d be all over this. And I would keep Josh Allen, too.

#1) it gives Allen the time he needs to develop. He was always more of a long term project anyway, IMO.

#2) it creates competition at the most important position in football. McDermott is all about competition for spots.

If Allen ever does legitimately earn the spot, you can trade Carr and his cap hit will be even more appealing at that time. Or if Carr shows he is the legit franchise QB we’ve been searching for since Kelly, then you can trade Allen.

Fitting his cap cap hit in this season would be a problem, but I’m sure they can find a way to make it work.

I sont see see this happening, but I wish it would...

Hard pass!! He’s the most overrated QB of the last decade. There is no way that I’d pay that for below mediocre play.

Obviously many people associated with the NFL,  ( i.e. Players, coaches, etc.) don't agree with you as Carr has played in the last 3 Pro Bowls.

Here are his NFL Stats thru last season.  How are these overrated?

I don’t care if they agree with me. I have zero interest in Derek Carr. He is the most overrated QB of the last decade. I guess that I need to add IMO.

I'm talking about what they feel they have invested to get Allen. Do you honestly think they give up picks this year for another QB with a hefty contract? Only if they feel Carr makes us a SB contender. I don't know if he does, but in the short term it would surely make us better. Would I do it? Yes because I'm not sure what Allen will end up being.

If this is real, then I'll make this simple.  You give them whatever the ***** they want!  You don't hesitate.  I don't know how you work it in capwise, but you make it happen.

Carr was on the verge of being a top 5 QB IMO before be BROKE HIS BACK.  He was rushed back and now plays for a team that is completely checked out.  Oh, as for Allen, big deal.  If he pans out, trade the worst of the two in a few years.  You can solve your QB, maybe even your WR problem immediately.

You do this and we are 3-3, and can make the playoffs this year.

Do it.

Allen doesn't make a dime and if he pans out, you are in a Brees situation with San Diego.  You can't have enough starting quality QB's on your roster, especially when you are the Bills
