That was just incredible. I did not know that story and it makes me that much more proud of the kid.

Some NFL team is going to be very happy that they drafted him.

I dunno.........these kind of things mean very little about how they will perform in the NFL.

We sometimes mistakenly assume perseverance in the face of personal tragedy is an indicator that the player will show that kind of fortitude as a pro football player when being paid millions to play the game..........leaving people like Bill-shill Chris Brown dumbfoundedly questioning how Marcel Dareus can't be more devoted to his teammates when he had lost SO MANY people he cared about.

What is really important when projecting success on the field, especially with lineman,  is does the player really love the game?

I am not overly high on this years crop of WRs, it could just be a bad year for college QBs dragging down the measurables too.

Bills do not need another smurf so my list would be

Metcalf

Riley Ridley

Kelvin Harmon seems slow to me, does not get off of press cleanly, tends to trap the ball with his body, used more on underneath routes.

A J Brown is an intriguing prospect - decent size and skills, can beat press coverage and catches with his hands, seems Ol' Miss had an embarrassment of WR riches

N'Keal Harry - He's been productive, just doesn't seem very quick, doesn't get a lot of separation, and tends to trap the ball. Not sure how he would handle an Allen pass. Would like to see his 40 time.

Some others:

Preston Williams - hard to tell what you have with that Colorado offense, but the kid good size, ran good routes, used outside, inside, and on sweeps. He gets behind defenses, catches with his hands and has pretty tough RAC.

Jalen Hurd - great size, good to elite speed, excellent RAC.

There is a bit of a story there when he asked the Tennessee coaching staff who were using him successfully as a running back to switch him to playing outside more at WR, said his body was taking too much of a beating. At 6' 4" I can't imagine him not making one heck of a target at RB. They disagreed and he ended up switching schools - nothing I see in the Baylor tapes show me a kid that has mailed it in... they use him all over the place and he makes plays, and he has even run between the tackles for them on some red zone situations. Only one year starting at the position so he is a bit raw, but his success at Baylor makes me think that his ceiling is pretty high - just needs some coaching up recognizing coverages, beating press, etc..

Anthony Johnson - Sure he played at Buffalo and you worry about the competition, but the kid found success even when every defense was keying on him.

Good point.

Quinnen Williams is a DT with crazy moves. There are bigger, stronger DTs (I didn't know that he was originally a DE), but he uses unusual agility for a player that big to penetrate. Jonah Williams called him a 300 lb. bar of soap. It doesn't puzzle me that he sat behind Allen and Hand but I do wonder why he didn't see more snaps last season.

It will be interesting to watch him in the NFL. I view him as a Kyle Williams type, not a nose.

im on the Dexter Lawrence train. Best DT in my opinion and fits our need for a big body.

I might agree if we were not going to lose KW. Lawrence is better at clogging up the middle no doubt. Quinnen gets through in a hurry and kicks ass. They are both excellent.

Looks like the Bills are picking 10th.  Likely out of range for Bosa, Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver and possibly Jonah Williams.  Who looks good after that?

Will Clelin Ferrell be available? - I would guess not as pass rushers go early.

Would Bills take a chance on Dexter Lawerence after he was found to have banned substances (‘were they steroids?)

Is Rashan Gary worth a high pick and where do you play him?

So far, it doesn’t seem that a WR will be regarded highly enough to take there, but that could change as the offseason unfolds.

It's very early in the process, but already feel like we are going to be staring at LB or CB as the clear cut BPA when we hit the clock....

If they get lucky Devin White LB, LSU is on the board. He might be the 2nd/3rd best player in the draft.

That's who I was thinking about.  The board would go ballistic, but I think there has to be some concerns about Milano's durability and pairing White and Edmunds as guys who stay on the field in all packages (short of dime) could be really interesting.

I'd love the pick. White could basically be a younger and more talented Alexander. There'd still be room for Milano and you'd be set at the position for as long as you wanted to pay them. Plus they say White is a general type leader and tough guy, which I think we're missing.

With the 9th pick, it currently looks like Buffalo is probably going to have the following options on the table:

Devin White

Rashan Gary

Clelin Ferrell

Jonah Williams/Jawaan Taylor/Cody Ford

DK Metcalf

Greedy Williams

Ed Oliver (if they're lucky)

I'm still hoping for a trade down or Oliver, but we'll see.

I would go outside and make snow angels (even with no snow), if the draft turn out like this.

Bill, I'm with you on the Quinnen Williams train. He's an Aaron Donald type. Quick and powerful

I like him quite a bit. Jace Sternberger from Texas A&M looks good too.

Having Daboll on the staff with his connection to Bama could help the Bills mine some talented nuggets from their roster who don't get much playing time. Adding players such as Levi Wallace and Robert Foster as free agent draftees is a bonus that accelerates the roster building process.

I believe that Buffalo will trade down in order to gain more picks.

By Pick number 9 it is likely that...

DE- J. Bosa

DT- Q. Williams

ED- J. Allen

DT- E. Oliver

OT- J. Williams

OT- G. Little

QB- Dwayne Haskins

will all be gone.

As well as one of Clelin Ferrell, Greedy Williams, Devin White And Rahsan Gary.

i just don’t think they’ll want to use #9 to select the 5th best defensive lineman in this class. I would think they’d believe that the guy they select at #9 will be closer in value to the guys selected at the end of Round 1 or start of Round 2, than to the players selected ahead of them.

I think they’ll try to go BPA to an extent, they’ll go for need if the players are close, but if they’re able to find someone looking for that 2nd or 3rd QB at #9, I easily see them moving down 7-12 spots and selecting a player there while gaining more picks to fill out the roster.
