They better re-sign him. If we lose him, we would need a running back in the draft, and I don't see us getting a RB of his caliber in the fifth. jmo

McCoy - $8,875,000
DiMarco - $1,850,000

Tolbert - $695,000
Williams - $600,228

They're not going to pay another $4 million this year to a backup RB, no matter how productive he was last season. Take the draft pick, pick someone else to compete with Williams at a cost less than 25% of what MG would be due, and move on...

Good post. I see your point.

A question, though: why do people only bring 2nd and 5th round tenders? Is that the rule? Can't you offer, say, a 3rd or 4th round tender?

It's the round you were draft in or a 1st or 2nd rd tender I believe.

If Bills do not match they will get a 5th round pick, because that is where Mike was originally drafted.

We didn't get anything for Hogan because he was given the Original Tender (and being a UDFA there is no compensation with that).

But not a comp pick?

I think it has to be their Original Pick in that round. and if they don't have a 5th, then it would be a 4th from what I understand.

I don't think they can use compensatory picks for RFA tenders

15 Min left to match.... Let him walk.

Correct. Can't be a comp pick

The Bills will get Denver's original pick at 163 (19th pick in the 5th) because they traded it to Pats.

Pats also have a comp pick that is the 2nd to last pick in the 5th. The Pats traded their original 5th rd pick (175) to Cleveland for Kiki Mingo.

J will is more talented. Tolbert is more powerful short yardage. We are drafting a rb prbly better than mg rd 5.

Wtf is the issue.

Its qb folks. Everything else is noise

J Will is terrible. Which games have you been watching?!

i got it :)

@spotrac

Matching Mike Gillislee's 2 yr/$6.4M offer would leave the #Bills spending $10.25M cash on their projected RB1/RB2 in 2017 - 2nd highest.

That's been our primary offensive attack. Not surprising.

I saw a Rookie on limited Snaps.

how was Mike early in his career again?

im not even saying matching is a slam dunk choice (though think the second round tender was probably) -- but declaring JWIll better seems... optimisitic? hopeful?

I know they will get a 5th because he is restricted, but if they loss more then free agents then sign, doesn't the league award comp picks?

he will not be in that equation because we will have been compensated for him.

Based on Pre Draft yes he is a better prospect.

I won't Frag J Will based on a rookie year with limited snaps.
