  1. The only difference between Allen and Mahomes is luck of the draw. Mahomes went to the greatest playcaller possibly ever with two first-ballot HOF pass catchers. Allen went to a guy who is so poor at evaluating offensive talent that he thought Nate Peterman should initially start over him.
  2. They actually have a pretty good roster. Their defense is very good and their offense has receivers, an RB and a really good line outside of the center spot….Althought I think both Powers and McGlichnchey, message board targets last year are both pretty terrible and very overrated. They don’t have a QB obviously and that is a huge problem. But I think they are far from the worst team in the league. They are an 8-9 type group imo. I don’t think Stidham is the guy, but I could see him starting a year as a bridge. Now if they trade Cortland Sutton and sign Nate Peterman or something, they arw tanking. I do think Sean Payton wants to prove he can win without Brees, just like BB tried to do in NE. And that’s why Stidham will get a shot. These guys are about ego.
  3. Truly, Peterman looked outstanding in 2018, and won the job clean from Josh. Then the regular season hit. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Nate Peterman turned into a really, really good coach.
  4. As far as I understand it, Nate Peterman is a whiteboard wizard. Essentially an extra coach in the QB room. It's what's kept him employed in the league and I expect that he'll be a great OC if he decides to get into coaching.
  5. OOOOOOOUUUCCCH. I mean, it might actually be the best chance for them to make the postseason, but even with Sean Payton being a massive upgrade over Nate Hackett, that is a telling condemnation.
  6. With the 33rd pick of the TSW mock draft version 2.0 the Detroit Lions select: Kool-Aid McKinstry, Corner, Alabama The Lions roster has very few genuine needs but they are not good enough at corner. Even though Nate Wiggins would have been my BPA if still on the board selecting him here would not be a scheme fit. It would have been very Elam to the Bills. Halfway through the 2022 season the Lions moved to mainly a zone coverage scheme on the backend and have been a significantly better defense since. Wiggins is a man specialist but I am not sold on his fit in a zone scheme and he has short arms that limit his ability to make plays on the ball in off coverage. So I am going for Kool-Aid. I know it is a repeat of what @section122 did in version 1.0 but it just makes most sense, but I also picked up a couple of extra picks in the process. @section122 and the Patriots are now on the clock.
  7. He strikes me as the kind of guy who goes around making enemies and is likely to be the guy who doesn't fit in to the culture. I.E., he's NOT a "good guy" that people like. It's amazing how much money he has made, and how much time he has spent in the NFL. Once you get in that club, it's impossible to leave! How about our old friend Nate Hackett? I still can't believe that guy has a job.
  8. The Jets offense would stink even with Rodgers. Bad OL, bad weapons, and Nate Hackett. Terrible.
  9. When Easton stick takes off his helmet but its actually Nate peterman
  10. I still have ptsd from when we went out there with Nate peterman, yes I realize this was a very long time ago
  11. Good point nate- Mahomes’ lack of scrambling is the difference in the game imo.
  12. Yep, as you said, we will have them the rest of the way since CBS has the SB. There is also an alternate simulcast of the SB on Nickelodeon, featuring Nate Burleson, Noah Eagle, SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Starr, Sandy Cheeks, Larry the Lobster, Dora the Explorer, and Boots: https://clutchpoints.com/super-bowl-gets-wild-spongebob-dora-boost
  13. Here is what seems to be the most accepted formula. Google it and see for yourself how often this formula comes up. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/5/8/5683486/nfl-draft-trade-value-chart This chart doesn't list the value of the following year's picks but it does list the Bills #10 at 1,300 for a return of 786 (for picks 27 and 91). Even if the 2018 pick closed the gap somewhat, does the fact that the Bills were in desperate need for a quarterback escape you? The following is the 2017 Bills roster. It lists 3 QBs: 1) Tyrod Taylor 2) Nate Peterman 3) Joe Webb https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2017_roster.htm Does this appear to you to be a team that needed a cornerback more than a quarterback? If so, please help me understand your conclusion. Do ya think that KC Fans dislike ther fact that McDermott handed them a certain HOF QB, one of the best ever? Really, try to be serious. You may see those of us who think this was an almost indescribably stupid deal as being "nonsensical. Frankly I find this comment to be rude and presumptous but that's just me. Am I happy with Josh? Very happy!!!! We are extremely lucky that he fell to us, unless of course you think that McDermott planned this at the time of the trade. In any case, welcome to TSW.
  14. Nasty Nate is right. We need difference-makers. The team has a lot of solid players even, in some cases, as backups. We need more difference-makers who can change the course of a game. I'd love a speedy Lee Evans-type wideout. And I'd love a good edge who doesn't spend most of his time on the bench. But whatever Beane does, I hope he finds playmakers. I'll be happy with a shutdown corner who's also a ballhawk. Or a bruising All-Pro OT who will keep Josh clean in the pocket and reliably push opponents back on third and short.
  15. What a difference an OC makes. It feels like we just replaced Nate Hackett in here.
  16. Explain Nate Hackett? Or Pat Shurmur having two chances to be a head coach? Or Rob Ryan? Or Andy Reid’s ex heroin son being a d line coach? Or garbage Brian Schottmeir? Or a million other examples. im not saying it’s all racism but it isn’t just the best guys getting the job. There is a guy in high school or college who is a million times better than Hackett but will never get a chance because is dad wasn’t a nfl coach or he’s not friends with the right people.
  17. mahomes, stafford, russell wilson, joe flacco, aaron rodgers, the rest non-starting QB's: Detroit Lions QB Nate Sudfeld (Philadelphia Eagles; 2018) Kansas City Chiefs QB Blaine Gabbert (Tampa Bay Buccaneers; 2021) Las Vegas Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (New England Patriots; 2014, 2017) Las Vegas Raiders QB Brian Hoyer (New England Patriots; 2019) New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor (Baltimore Ravens; 2012) New York Jets QB Trevor Siemian (Denver Broncos; 2015) Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB John Wolford (Los Angeles Rams; 2022) Washington Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett (New England Patriots; 2017) History says the Super Bowl losing QB doesn't fare well so Purdy is out. Lamar Jackson is a joke. Burrow has a chance if he can be healthy. CJ Stroud has his sophomore slump to go through, Jalen Hurts was exposed, Baker Mayfield is the GOAT. I'd say he has a fair take.
  18. He is still very poor at in game management and at this point that just is never going to change I've thought this since he named Nate Peterman starting qb with a team very much alive in the playoff race. So my opinion isn't going to change at this point
  19. Announced today. Some of you hardcore football fans might be able to shed light on some of these players. I know Puca Nacua's brother, Kai was named all-league safety and that the placekicker Jake Bates made 3 FGs of over 60 yards. I wonder how many of these guys end up signing with an NFL team near you. 2024 All-UFL Team Offense Quarterback - Adrian Martinez, Birmingham Stallions Running Back - Jacob Saylors, St. Louis Battlehawks Wide Receiver - Hakeem Butler, St. Louis Battlehawks; Daewood Davis, Memphis Showboats; Marcus Simms, Michigan Panthers Tight End - Jace Sternberger, Birmingham Stallions Offensive Tackle - Jaryd Jones-Smith, St. Louis Battlehawks; Bobby Evans, Arlington Renegades Offensive Guard - Zack Johnson, Birmingham Stallions; Kohl Levao, San Antonio Brahmas Center - Mike Panasiuk, St. Louis Battlehawks Defense Defensive Line - Carlos Davis, Birmingham Stallions; Daniel Wise, Michigan Panthers Edge/Outside Linebacker - Chris Odom, Houston Roughnecks; Breeland Speaks, Michigan Panthers Inside Linebacker - Tavante Beckett, San Antonio Brahmas; Willie Harvey, St. Louis Battlehawks Cornerback - Deandre Baker, D.C. 20. Both of these are easy for me. Player: Late Nate Peterman. I've lived in Los Angeles since '91, so getting to see a Bills game live is a cherished experience. I was at that game against the Chargers in 2017. It was a beautiful day, in a wonderfully intimate 24,000-seat Stubhub Arena. Fourteen passing attempts, six completions, five interceptions. All in the first half. And let me tell you, friends-- those tickets were ***** expensive. Perhaps, I could have just moved on, and not held on to my bitterness all these years. But, the salt in the wound was... the Bills kept him on the roster. They kept him on the roster the following season! He has never done anything but stunk up the field whenever he takes a snap, but that muther ***** is still in the league!!! (Currently on the NO Saints.) Coach: Rex Ryan. I was sickened when they hired that fat tub of *****. I was afraid he was going to turn the Bills-- a team that was enduring the longest playoff drought in the league-- into even more of a laughing stock. And he did. His tenure was a weekly crap show of embarrassment. It was some of the most press coverage the Bills have ever received, and for all the wrong reasons. Without exaggeration, he took a top three ranked defense, and with one starting personnel change, put them into the bottom three. After the Jet's released IK Enemkpali for breaking Gino Smith's jaw in the Jet's locker room shower, Ryan promptly signed him, and made him a captain for the Jets game, so he could be out in middle of the field, avoiding eye contact with Smith, for the coin toss. That classless move is everything one needs to know about that man's integrity.
  21. Remember it? I was there. In the same end zone where Nate Clements fumbled a kickoff and Rian Lindell missed a FG. It's the worst game I ever attended in person. I was also there in 1987 when we hosted the Pats in the final game of the season. Winner won the division, loser missed the playoffs. We lost. I will not be at the game this Sunday, don't worry.
  22. The last time the Bills won a road game against the Chargers was in 1981. After that brutal playoff loss months earlier. The Nate Peterman disaster game was against the Chargers as well. Playing there historically has been Hell for the Bills. So yeah I appreciate your sentiments.
  23. Here’s my mock draft so I don’t lose it next year lol 1. Bears - QB Caleb Williams 2. Commanders - QB Jayden Daniels 3. TRADE! Giants - QB Drake Maye 4. Cardinals - WR Marvin Harrison Jr 5. TRADE! Vikings - QB Michael Penix Jr. 6. Patriots - QB JJ McCarthy 7. Titans - OT Joe Alt 8. TRADE! Jaguars - WR Malik Nabers 9. TRADE! Bills - WR Rome Odunze 10. Jets - TE Brock Bowers 11. 24. I would hope that Beane would be all over DK Metcalf if he were available in June. But I think they might be bought into a "rebuild" for 2025 mode and cling to all of their draft capital. I remember entering the 2007 offseason there was real hype building with media talking heads and Bills fans about how the Bills were putting together a young team that could soon challenge the Patriots. Fans were really in on Dick Jauron and drinking he and Marv's Kool aid. It was seen as OK that they let Nate Clements leave in UFA without using the franchise tag because they were getting their guys and getting younger. Then the Patriots traded a 4th round pick for Randy Moss........and proceeded to create MASSIVE distance between them and the Bills. They literally scored 8 straight TD's in the game at Buffalo that season as they went f*cking 16-0 with the highest scoring offense in NFL history. Moss tore Jauron's asssup for 3 years until he was rightfully sh!tcanned. The moral of the story is that only a fool would expect that the championship team that you have been chasing will get complacent or be conservative and get themselves caught. No team has won 3 straight Super Bowls. The Chiefs KNOW that it will be harder to get this 3rd one and they may well just go to excess to create separation between them and opponents. The Bills should be in on a difference maker like Metcalf. He's not going to bring a 1st round return............so don't NOT get DK Metcalf just so you can get a shot on next years Cole Bishop.
