Everybody who saying why would he even say that and they'll adjust don't even realize that if he figured that out as a rookie watching tape the entire NFL already knew including the Chiefs

Don't act like he just blew anything off the top

And lazy players will just give another tell.. worthy will drop that and just do another thing

If anything this is the type of mind game that now their receiver is going to be thinking extra hard about all of that and not even be executing as much.. he literally had worthy blanketed most of the game now he's in his head

This is mental warfare ... I prepare better than you

We are not talking about anquan boldin here lol or Larry Fitzgerald... Maxwell Harrison is a much better football player than Xavier Worthy

and this is basically telling him you're in for long days in Buffalo when you play me

This was my first thought. As well as

maybe he didn't pick up on a DAMN thing and now that kid and his coaching staff gets to frantically/ schizophrenically look for a tell that isn't happening 🤣😂🤣😂 this has happened in MLB. Ultimate psy-op

Don’t tell them about their tells. I’d like to just keep that knowledge to yourself until some time after retirement.

Total non-story. I said the same the other week when people were worried about New England players saying they knew what plays the Bills were running. If you mine post-match pressers and locker room interviews every week around the league these sorts of quotes are ten a penny. Every defensive player says it "I saw it on film study", or "I read the body language" etc etc.

Non-issue, non-story.

Yea, but if you spell out what the tell is, the player can make a correction and the tell won’t be there the next time around.

Or maybe he's lying & there is no tell.  He just wants KC to needlessly spend extra time w/ self-scouting as well as to get into Worthy's head, making him overthink. ;)

This^^^^ I had the same thought. Play with their heads.

And Bishop did the same thing when talking about his "back of his helmet" pass break up.

The Chiefs have done this to the Bills so many times in the playoffs.  Hopefully the Bills are holding something in the tank.

Interesting, the rookie claimed film study of Worthy’s body language were a tell as to what play the Chiefs were about to run.

Hairston could tell when Worthy was getting the ball or not based on his body language alone.

“Finding a difference in his posture and his effort for real — when he knows he’s not getting it, when it’s a run,” Hairston said. “So just applying what I saw from the film room and taking it out to the field.

“There are tells that everybody gives. It’s just about finding it.”

So why would he say anything now, knowing we will likely be playing them again at some point?

As @Buffalo716 has already said if the Bills have seen it on film, so have the Chiefs. The idea you are giving away a state secret is for the birds.

Maybe not a great idea to tell this to the world & give the Chiefs to correct the tell before we meet again in the playoffs.

I mean I'm all for tanking chiefs playoff chances by giving denver, chargers and the rest of their sched some intel

So we’re suggesting a 20-something year old rookie CB after his second game is engaging in calculated “PsyOps”, rather than just talking excitedly after a game like 20-something players tend to do? I’ll take the Under.

Max should be benched for a half. Just a dumb thing to spout off in an interview.

Just don't bench him this week...we need his speed to defend Waddle & Achane - two of the fastest guys in football

This thread reminded me of Andre Agassi telling Boris Becker post-retirement his tell

Chauncey Billups shoulda watched this! Can't be knowing the cards and going all in on an inside straight draw on the river!!!

After cracking Enigma during WW2, Alan Turing and the British had to keep that fact secret from the Germans.  (Not quite sure about the historical accuracy as this was not a documentary film).

Honest reaction.  Maybe keep some things close to the vest.  Overall, you can tell how excited he is and the work on and off the field is paying off.

Remember Tyrod Taylor's tell.

IIRC:

mouthguard in = pass

mouthguard out = run (someone else running, not him)
