Something about this team this year just doesn't sit right. The defense appears to be worse and the offense is inconsistent, disjointed, and not difficult for opposing defenses to figure out. They'll make the playoffs but don't really see them in the Superbowl.

I think the D is so bad that there is a huge emphasis on slow time consuming offensive drives. More than usual.

I’ve been clamoring for the past few weeks that I’d like to see them run more uptempo at times. Quit letting the opposing D sub and keep them on their heels!

I’m halfway there, still holding hope. There’s an outside chance the defense figures it out.

Whaley and Nix weren't fired for Drafting poorly. They were fired for not fielding a winning team.

This is like saying the patient didn’t die because they stopped breathing, they died due to lack of O2.

Problem with this is that Brady loves to switch personal up. And by rule anytime you switch personal the opponents get a chance to sub as well.

Now if we can catch a team with obvious mismatches in personal...by all means run that up tempo and take advantage of it. I just don't know if Brady can help himself

I am going to miss the game due to work so I hope the Bills stick to exploiting its strengths on offense.  The defense is a battered and wounded unit.  The need to offense to chew up the clock and to put points on the scoreboard on every drive.  The bye week is coming at a great time.

I the Bills lose this game, the Patriots will be in first place in the AFCE, with a Meathead revenge game coming up against the woeful Titans, while the Bills are on their bye week.

Fight at the end. EVERYONE hates KC. Mahomes taunts all game and is surprised Branch doesnt want to kiss his rings?

Derp, wrong thread. But I eff KC anyway.

Agreed.

Since the D is so atrocious, the Offence and Josh are handicapped from quick scores. They can’t let these guys back on the field too quickly.

Pats have lost two afc games though so all things considered bills would be in control of their fate still with a rematch with NE on the schedule still. Division leader in week 6 means absolutely nothing

It's really not. Your implication that bad Drafting and bad Drafting alone gets you (or in this case Nix and Whaley) fired is straight up false.

I gave a number of scenarios where poor Drafting can be cancelled out by other things - namely acquiring a Franchise QB (which can be done outside of the Draft).

There were teams in the Whaley and Nix era that overachieved even with bad to bridge level QB play. Often times winning just enough games to consistently miss out on Top Draft Picks necessary to land a Franchise QB. With a Josh Allen type, they wouldn't have been fired when they were and who knows where they could have gone.

A must game win for the Bills?  Are people insane? A little history will help:

2021:  the Bills are 7 - 6 and 2.5 games out of 1st place in the east.

2022:  the Bills are 6 - 3 and in 3rd place in the AFC East.

2023:  the Bills are 6 - 6 and 3 games behind Miami in the East.

2024:  the Bills are 3 - 2 after 5 games.

So in what alternate universe is 4 - 2 season over for a team with the above track record?

I think people are thinking in terms of the 1-seed and playoff bye instead of just making the playoffs or winning the division.

When you're aiming for 14+ wins, there are more "must wins" along the way than if you're aiming to make the playoffs.
