At the same time, he's always had Tua's number and has done a great job shutting down Lamar almost every time we play the Ravens (or at least containing him more than most teams do).

 

I think the real criticism with the McDefense is you just never know what you are going to get week to week.

Most of those were bad/mediocre at best opposing qb performances but they were kept in the game by Josh turning it over multiple times against an inferior opponent. He’s taken big strides to prevent games like this the last year or so  

 

Russ: 193 passing yards

Josh 2 ints bills offense had 4 turnovers total

 

Easton: 215 passing yards 1 total td

Josh 3 turnovers

easton’s second lowest passing yds per game in his career 

 

Thompson: 40% completion, 220 yds passing 2 ints

Josh 3 turnovers

Trevor in Jax: 118 passing yards

Josh 3 turnovers

 
Trevor in London was a bad game for the defense for sure 

 

obviously we have not done well defensively against great teams in the biggest games but I think a lot of these supposed bad performances against bad teams  are getting misremembered quite a bit

How come Josh’s stats were so pedestrian? 148 passing yards on 5.9 YPA, only 56% completion percentage, and no TDs. I’m sure he was good cause he’s always good but gaudy stats always help MVP cases.

 

Some good defense on the Jets part.  Josh had a couple balls batted down, and he threw a couple of balls away.  There were some bad drops, too, particularly by Knox.  

Also, Josh missed a couple plays with a broken nose (?), and then later sat for the last 8 minutes with the game effectively over. 

 

In any case, his arm just wasn't needed much today.

Prater is now 11/11 on kicks (6/6 FG, 5/5 XP), not to mention two of those being a game winner and a 50+.  The only advantage Bass gives you is the hypothetical length to nail an emergency 60+ and frankly we have a QB who's savvy enough to play to his kicker's target line in an end-game drill.

It’s the most obvious important decision for Mcbeane to move OFF one of “their guys.”

I was on a golf trip this weekend and played Friday and Saturday. The guys (no Bills fans) were pressuring me to play on Sunday morning also. My choices were to play on a beautiful 65F morning in Wisconsin or drive back 2.5 hours to catch the Bills play the friggin Jests.

I always choose to wait on these decisions, but if after 4 weeks Prater has kept this up I think I would be OK if we IR Bass for the season. I don’t want to risk him re-injuring himself and not having Prater available. There’s about 6 teams who would kill for a kicker like him right this second.
