skibum Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Glad it's not longer, looking forward to someone stepping up. Quote
MasterStrategist Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Ugh, ankles can be tricky. Well silver lining is he should be ready week 1, and he/Josh already have a great rapport. Palmer is missing time with a groin, hes more important to get reps IMO. 1 4 Quote
NewEra Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Fine by me. Less chance to suffer serious injury in preseason/camp. sucks that it’s another ankle sprain for him. His ankles are his lifeline on the field 1 Quote
Bangarang Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Time wise, this is very fortunate. I would expect him to be available for the opener though. 2 4 Quote
SCBills Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Both teams now have a player on watch for the opener… Shakir for us and Likely for the Ravens. 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 This team is hurting for a bye and it’s early August sigh 2 1 6 1 Quote
Awwufelloff Posted August 3 Posted August 3 High ankle sprains can linger all season, brutal. 3 8 1 Quote
HIT BY SPIKES Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Well at least it was NOT a hip because they don't lie... 1 2 1 Quote
RoscoeParrish Posted August 3 Posted August 3 The pessimistic take is that Shakir is clearly our top receiving threat and it’s not really close. the optimistic take is that we have arguably 3-4 other guys who may thrive in the slot in his absence. 3 Quote
uticaclub Posted August 3 Posted August 3 They understand his role in the offense. It's unfortunate that it's a high ankle injury, but now there are more opportunities for the fringe players to show their skills and build chemistry with Josh. Quote
davefan66 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Hope the stated timeline is pre-season centric. Wonder if it would be a shorter timeline in season? 1 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted August 3 Posted August 3 See, if we traded the next 3 drafts for Parsons we wouldn't have this problem 3 Quote
eball Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Should be good to go for the opener or W2. He knows the offense and his role; could be much, much worse. As others have noted, more reps for the younger guys to build their case for the 53... Quote
Sojourner Posted August 3 Posted August 3 If he misses any regular season games, hopefully they aim to use Keon from that slot role 1 Quote
billsbackto81 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Outside of season ending injuries, these are the worse in my opinion. Time lines are so difficult to predict with high ankle sprains and they linger all season long, a lot like turf toe. Hope he's ready for the opener but most likely won't be 100%. 1 Quote
