Curtis Samuel is going to be the Z unless they make a trade yes thats a step down from Diggs but I believe that Coleman is a large upgrade from Davis and obviously Shakir and Kincaid will become more of a focus for the offense. They have 3 very early picks next year to fill a WR spot if they aren't satisfied with their corps next year. I know thats not what everyone wants to hear but its the truth.

And sometimes, the truth hurts. Or, you want the truth? You can't handle the truth!

I used comparable skill sets to make it an easier read, but you can just look at it as we lost 4 WRs this offseason and have only added 3. We are -1 on the roster. Something has to be coming. If it's a post-6/1 vet trade I'm good with that, possibly great with that depending on the player. Ideally Aiyuk, if not him ideally Deebo, if not them I guess Courtland Sutton as a baseline #2 outside WR isn't too bad. Maybe there's some other name no one is talking about. But a starting caliber addition simply has to be made.

Sure and that's why I said the Double Down in the DRAFT was a pipe dream.

We definitely need to add another, but it will be a vet. Not a draft pick. And was always going to be the case with our Defensive needs from the draft.

Given our cap situation, we needed 2 WR's out of this draft.  Passing on Troy Franklin at 95 is inexplicable.  I just don't get the emphasis on defense, which always fails.

Ed Oliver isn't elite. He is close but he isn't there. He is the second best player Beane has drafted though.

Which is a problem. Dude has t done anything in a big game.

kc playoffs. Nothing. He’s not elite. Elite is Chris jones

I saw plenty of explosion when watching him play

1.65 10-split isn't elite but is in line with the Booker/Kneeland/Trice tier of smaller edges. It's not special but not poor.

209. Javon Solomon, Edge, Troy (6-0, 246)

Solomon has a unique collection of traits in a smaller-framed body, but he is disproportionately long with the bend, burst and motor that make him a pass-rushing pest. He can play on special teams and earn a rotational role on defense, like how James Houston is deployed by the Detroit Lions.

This could be a 6 sack+ per year guy. Sneaky how he bends and gets to the QB

A bunch of regulars go to their favorite Tavern, and behind the bar is a sign "Free Beer Tomorrow".
They go back the next day and ask for the free beer, the bartender says "the sign says Tomorrow "

That is this Bills organizations theme,   "Wait till next year" over and over again.

Before Diggs and Davis were gone it has been when will the Bills get a wr in the 1st. The streak continues.

Solomon is the edge. A bit undersized, older, not particularly explosive. Probably captain of the gin rummy club at Troy at least.

Now that is how to sarcastically troll.

Well done!

Okay so with the Bills taking Solomon and the Packers taking Oladapo I'm down to just 15 guys on my board... so here they are:

2. Christian Mahogany, IOL, Boston College

3. Beau Brade, S, Maryland

4. Leonard Taylor, DT, Miami

5. Brenden Rice, WR, USC

6. Beaux Limmer, C, Arkansas

7. Malik Washington, WR, Virginia

8. Nathaniel Watson, LB, Mississippi State

9. Mekhi Wingo, DT, LSU

10. Marcus Harris, DT, Auburn

11.  Javion Cohen, IOL, Miami

12. Caelen Carson, CB, Wake Forest

13. Tyler Davis, DT, Clemson

14. Dallin Holker, TE, Colorado State

15. Cornelius Johnson, WR, Michigan

Samuel replaces Diggs.

Beane has referred to Samuel as a "weapon" this offseason, not a WR. I think they signed him to be the much better version of McKenzie/Harty. He will get some outside looks like those players did from time to time but I don't think he is our Z. By the way I loved the Samuel signing but you need two starting caliber outside WRs on the roster and we just don't have that right now.

that plan was always stupid then.

Why double dip on the second most valuable position on cheap rookie deals that directly benefits from an elite QB in the best WR draft in half a decade?

Because we need core STer’s!

I could care less about combine results, TBH.

Watch him play and he has a great burst/bend, and mixes power with hand moves.  He has long arms and a knack of generating a lot of pressure and producing results.

He could be a James Houston impact rookie, as a pass rush specialist.

Always thought the same thing. They would try to reload a lot of defense because honestly they needed to.  We also desperately needed a couple receivers after trading Diggs.  They may get a vet but I don't think they are getting that big star vet people want.  Seems to me they are trying to reset the cap and it doesn't make sense to put us against it so soon again.

That's not true. He did nothing this past KC game, I agree. 13 seconds he was the best defender the Bills had on the field he was excellent that night. I agree he isn't quite elite. But his post season production in his first 10 career playoff games is better than Chris Jones was his first 10....
